This place exhausts me," he muttered, his eyes searching the woods' edge of the thicket. As a sharp breeze blew through the forest, causing the fallen leaves to rustle over the snowy landscape.
Carter glanced over at his vice commander, still studying the Girox track in the snow. He said, "Let's locate Aaron and bring this to an end," then a mischievous smile curled on his lips. "I wish to return to my beloved Dahlia. I'm ready to take her back to Everton and make her my wife."
Merrick chuckled at the young Paladin. "That girl has you wrapped around her finger."
Carter laughed heartily, his sly grin widening as he replied, "among other things."
