Faye peered down at the little girl in her lap, picking up her nervous posture. She slowly coaxed her to speak.
"Okay Lana, whisper to me in my ear and tell me what is so important. Don't worry. I will keep it a secret between us. No one will ever find out."
After hearing the Duchess' kind words, Lana leaned over to her ear and covered the corner of her mouth with her hand so no one could see or hear what she was asking.
Faye listened intently, her facial expression not giving away any of the private conversation.
Once Lana finished she sat back a bit more relaxed to see the Duchess with a pleasant smile and not laughing at her about her request.
Then Faye leaned down, giving her a gentle stare, and said. "You and your sister will stay after the rest have finished giving their flowers. We will speak more on this matter."
