Faye contemplated the meaning of what she had read engraved on the fortress walls and considered its meaning. She directed her attention towards Sterling, who sat there observing her with an amused smile on his face.
She remarked, "Those are incredibly courageous words, defying both the King and the empire. It almost appears you're issuing a challenge."
Sterling nodded, humming in approval at her choice of words. "Mhm…" He was impressed that Faye had understood the meaning behind the fortress motto.
He said with a quirked brow. "I see you are far more perceptive than I first thought." He sighed, leaning his head over Faye's shoulder, staring out the carriage window as they arrived at the entrance.
"Before this is all over, I will seat you beside me as queen of this empire."
