However, her heart could not let go of it. She wondered, "Why was she plagued with so much guilt over Aaron's death?"
"Faye? What are you thinking about?" She felt the foamy wash cloth glide over her back as she sat between the Duke's legs in the bath.
He had sent the servants away who normally helped her bathe and dress. Sterling had insisted on taking care of himself for the rest of the day.
Her baby blue eyes glimpsed over her shoulder, "Don't you have duties to tend to today? Why are you here—doing this?"
Upon hearing her question, she saw Sterling's brow wrinkle in deep thought. He said, "We need peace and alone time with each other. You need rest and so do I…We have been through too much today, don't you agree?"
Faye gazed into the Duke's tired eyes. She could feel the weariness roll off his body. "Yes," she said, in a docile tone.
