Carter narrowed his eyes in annoyance at Andre. "For the love of all that is holy. Get a grip on yourself, man, and put down that swill you are drinking. It has gone to your head and turned it into mush."
"Sniff, Sniff…"
Carter heard Andre sniffling. He had yet to let go of him or Dahlia from his crushing embrace.
Carter asked, "Are you crying?!" his voice was tinged with mockery.
Andre kept his head bowed as he nodded in reply. "What if she says no tonight when I ask for her hand in marriage!?" he was wringing his hands nervously. "I don't think my heart could take it if Mielle declined my proposal."
"For land's sake, get off of us… Andre, go gather your wits, soldier." Carter repeated and chided abruptly, using his hands to push the gigantic paladin away so they could breathe.
