Andre looked back at the fire and could see the remains of the demons. In front of him were the rotting burnt bodies of Girox, the scorched red flesh of Osvol demons, and the scant remains of Spritewigs. The amount of them was overwhelming. As Andre took in everything around him, he pondered the fact he had never seen so many monsters in one place.
Upon walking closer to the pyre, Andre noticed the valuable stones inside the monsters had not been removed. They glinted and glowed in the fire. There was a fortune waiting for the taking. However, the raging flames prevented him from reaching them. The massacre happened swiftly and with extreme prejudice.
As evidenced by the Duke's red aura sword, a fine red ash was scattered throughout the forest. Andre understood Sterling was responsible for this wrath. The red ash left by his sword was a unique mark of his demon-slaying prowess. It swirled in the frigid winds all around them.
