As he approached her, the sweet scent of Faye's perfume surrounded him. It was amusing, to say the least. Her presence was a comfort. She seemed to soothe the constant storm that brewed in his mind. Sterling noticed it when he entered the room, as he possessed a part of the Dragon lineage; his natural revoltion of people seemed to diminish when she was in his company.
It made him excited to feel this way, although he could not resist touching her. He lowered himself onto one knee, feeling the plush rug beneath him. Sterling gently reached out and ran his fingers through her hair, savoring the smooth, silky texture.
He lifted the strands to his nose and breathed in her delicate fragrance while his fiery red eyes gazed up at her.
"You look stunning, my sweet butterfly. I can't wait to see their faces. You'll make all the women at dinner tonight green with envy."
