Faye dozed deeper than she realized. She was awakened by Sterling's motion beside her. She heard the page of a book rustling as it was turned. Sterling had one arm still wrapped firmly across her body, holding her in place over his brawny chest, while the other was busy holding a book as he read. He looked quite regal as he held out the book from his face. Faye observed his eyes tremor back and forth as he read.
She looked closely at what he was doing. Faye was eager to learn to read. It almost made her envious that she could not understand what he was glancing at on those pages. Sterling looked down at his chest. He sensed Faye was awake. As he felt her stir, he could see his wife stealing glances of him. He grinned at her with a cheeky smile.
