Iris heard a soft knock on the door. She immediately woke up and sat at the edge of the bed.
After tying her hair into a messy bun, she walked to the door and opened it.
She saw Xavier standing in his casual house clothes, looking fresh as if he had just come out of the bathroom. She could smell a faint mint fragrance on him.
"You slept with your coat on?"
Iris was stunned hearing his question. She looked at herself, surprised to realize she was still wearing her coat. No wonder she felt so hot when she slept and also uncomfortable. She simply smiled in response to his question.
"Alright, go change first. Your breakfast is ready. Well, this is not breakfast, but brunch," he said. "I will wait for you at the dining table."
"Thanks," she answered, faintly smiling as she saw him leave.
Iris didn't waste any more time. She didn't want to make him wait on the first day she stayed at his house.
