"How could I forget? Xavier promised to call me this morning..." she muttered, reaching for her phone and turning it on. Immediately, her phone began to vibrate incessantly.
Iris could only smile wryly as she found her phone flooded with texts from Xavier. She quickly dialed his number, concerned that he might rush over to her house to check on her well-being. In just a few days of getting to know him better, she was beginning to understand his caring nature.
"Good morning, Xavier," Iris warmly greeted when he answered the call. "I'm sorry, I just woke up. Last night, I turned off my cell phone before going to sleep," she explained as she left her room. However, as she stepped into the hallway, her footsteps halted abruptly. There stood Xavier near the glass window with his back facing her.
She was left utterly speechless and perplexed. Why had he arrived so early, and how had he made it to the second floor?
