Chapter 22 - The Creation of Silver Wolf Sub-Pack

His father was undoubtedly a monster. A complete monster who only cared about his ego and his own interests.

They forcibly raped the girls for the sake of an ancient prophecy. It was truly heartbreaking to see the girls being given enough food and drink, only to be forced to satisfy the sexual desires of the pack members at night.

Gabriel often heard the agonizing cries of the girls as he walked through the corridors in the middle of the night.

It was sickening.

Bastards. Bastards. Bastards.

Gabriel sighed and shook his head softly—trying to erase the images from his mind. He would never be able to forget those events, no matter how hard he tried.

Honestly, he felt disgusted by his wolfpack lineage. The sins of the past could never be redeemed by anything. His father didn't even appear to have any remorse whatsoever.

It was one of the reasons why Gabriel grew to hate the man even more.

As he sat in contemplation, alone with his thoughts, the memories seemed to try to devour him. The burden of guilt weighed on his chest like a suffocating stone.

Sometimes, he could only rage and smash mirrors when he caught a glimpse of his father's features in his own reflection.

He wished he had no connection whatsoever to that man.His father was not a leader to be admired.

Merely thinking about that man reignited the flames of anger within him. A long exhale escaped his lips. Gabriel leaned his head back and gazed out of his bedroom window.

Directly beneath the oak tree, a group of men had gathered, laughing and joking. They seemed to be engrossed in an engaging conversation, their laughter resonating with an infectious energy.

A smile tugged at Gabriel's lips as he observed the scene. They were members of his own sub-pack: the Silver Wolf Pack.

He had formed it himself, determined to distance himself from his father's influence. The camaraderie among them was palpable, a stark contrast to the toxic environment he had grown up in.

These were individuals who had chosen to follow him, to stand against the darkness that his father embodied.

Gabriel's gaze lingered on the camaraderie below. He had established this pack as a sanctuary, a place where he could surround himself with like-minded individuals who shared his values and aspirations.

The laughter reached his ears, a refreshing sound that eased the weight on his heart. These were the moments that reminded him of the purpose he had set for himself—to break free from the cycle of cruelty perpetuated by his father and forge a new path for himself.

With a renewed sense of purpose, Gabriel pushed away from the window and stood tall. The anger that had consumed him was now channeling into a powerful determination to make a difference, to ensure that the atrocities he had witnessed would not define his destiny.

Gabriel Moonfire, despite his unique nature, was fundamentally a simple person.

He merely yearned for peace. A balance between werewolf packs worldwide and harmonious coexistence with humans. He aimed to avoid conflicts, confrontations, and especially chaos that claimed the lives of the innocent.

This was in line with what the Moon Goddess had envisioned during their creation. The werewolf race was originally meant to be the protectors of the forest. The Moon Goddess fell in love with them and bestowed upon them descendants who inherited their protective nature and great strength to safeguard humanity.

However, on the contrary, his father's ShadowNight Pack, driven by ambition for power and territory, had strayed from the essence of the Moon Goddess's initial design.

Gabriel's longing for a peaceful coexistence wasn't just for the survival of his kind, but also for the preservation of the values and virtues that the Moon Goddess had intended for werewolves.

He believed in the potential for unity, compassion, and understanding between werewolves and humans, reflecting the harmony that was once established between the two.

The Moon Goddess's original plan was to create a world where both species could coexist without strife, working together to maintain the balance of nature and protect the innocent. Gabriel saw this as a noble purpose that extended beyond his personal desires.

And so, he had committed himself to shaping his own path, different from his father's ruthless pursuit of dominance. He aimed to lead by example, to show that a leader could be strong without being oppressive, influential without causing suffering, and powerful without succumbing to darkness.

In stark contrast to his father, Gabriel had no interest in politics, territorial expansion, or anything that aligned with his father's intentions. He refused to follow in his father's footsteps, even though the people of Wolfdale revered his father. Gabriel's focus was on assuming the role of protector for the residents of Wolfdale.

It was a simple role that his father dismissed, believing that the Moonchild prophecy had died alongside the extinction of the Moonlit Clan girls.

In the eyes of the people of Wolfdale, his simple role might have appeared insignificant compared to his father's grand plans. Yet, for Gabriel, the welfare of his pack and the harmonious existence of all beings were far more valuable than any political conquest.

His father was a charismatic and manipulative individual.

The brutality that his father possessed was carefully concealed behind his sweet smile. Gabriel had witnessed all of Fenrir Moonfire's reprehensible behavior masked under an honorable façade, and he was tired of pretending.

He would only concern himself with his sub-pack and the well-being of Wolfdale. He would honor the Moonchild prophecy in his own way.

With yet another sigh, Gabriel finally rose from his seat. He had heard that his father was planning to run for the senate.

The man's ambitions were growing increasingly wild by the day. He was collaborating by providing protection to corrupt leaders, and the ShadowNight Pack had transformed into a mafia-like organization, meddling in dirty political affairs.

Gabriel couldn't bear to see the legacy of his once-respected pack reduced to such degradation.

The pack's true purpose, its initial calling to protect and coexist, had been overshadowed by power-hungry greed and manipulation. It was a bitter realization that gnawed at him day by day.
