Ava looked at him curiously. "What do you want?" she asked.
"I don't want you to get mad but your aunt didn't just let me speak to you like that. I had to promise her something."
"What! What did you promise her?"
"I promised to be in her service like Dreya currently is."
"Why? Why would you do such a dumb thing?" Ava asked him.
"To save Ryder, there was no other option. And I didn't have the time to look for another solution."
"What are you going to do? Are you really going to leave? Ryder won't let you go." Ava pointed out.
"That's why he is never going to know. You can't tell him."
"You want me to keep it a secret? I already promised him that there would be no more secrets."
"Ava, this is for his own good. Ryder is hot headed when it comes to protecting those he loves, he wouldn't mind going to Salvatore and declaring war against them. He doesn't have the power to do that, he must never know."
