Shye walked down from the stage and returned to his seat with a smile on his face.
Although he was indeed a bit happy after garnering lots of attention, the main thing that made him happy was the 550 points that he earned from just one match.
It seemed that he would be able to earn a lot of points today!
Shye looked around and saw Leonardo staring at him with narrowed eyes and a serious expression.
In response, he simply smirked at Leonardo and then ignored him afterward.
"You probably think that it would be easy to defeat me, don't you?"
He chuckled as he thought to himself.
Two hands patted him on his shoulder so Shye quickly turned his head to look.
"Hmm? Anthony, Shirley, what is it?"
Shye asked with a confused expression on his face.
"W-What do you mean what is it? How did you beat their captain with a single hit?!"
"Y-Yeah! I couldn't ask back at the stage but you have to explain now!"
The two hands were from his classmates who were also in the top 20, Anthony and Shirley.
It seems that they were pretty shocked after seeing what happened to Peter Valesworth.
Although the two of them can take on Peter Valesworth together, they don't know if they will be able to win.
On the other hand, Shye destroyed Peter with a single slash of his wooden greatsword.
They thought that Shye was only a bit stronger than the two of them so they were initially worried about the battle plan.
Who would've thought that they were worried for nothing? It seems that this captain of theirs is pretty secretive when it comes to his true strength.
"Oh, that? I obviously hid my strength in the beginning and I am showing it now…"
Shye explained.
The truth is, he was indeed weaker than Peter Valesworth in the beginning.
However, with the help of the quests from the system in addition to the points gained from his duel with Cleo, Shye managed to upgrade his attributes to the point where he can one-hit someone like Peter.
He only said that he was hiding his strength since it was the easiest way to explain his explosive growth without exposing the system.

Anthony and Shirley were satisfied after Shye explained the "truth" to them.
Anthony was even a bit embarrassed because, in the past, he thought that he could hold his own against Shye and it would only be a matter of time before the class regrets accepting Shye as the class captain.
Today, he felt embarrassed at how delusional he was.
Still, he didn't harbor any negative thoughts for Shye and there was only respect in his heart after seeing how strong their captain actually was.
The crowd eventually settled down after Shye's match and there was a two-hour break before the next round started.
In addition, since they won, they were now in the upper bracket of the tournament and they wouldn't have to fight until later in the afternoon.
Due to this, he decided to eat lunch first and then watch the matches of the students from other courses.
Shye stood up from his seat and informed Instructor Fienna about his plans during the break.
"Sure, just make sure to get back on time"
"I will, thank you Instructor Fienna!"
He slightly bowed at Instructor Fienna and then proceeded to walk towards the academy canteen.
"C-Crowley! Where are you going?"
Shye recognized Shirley's voice so he turned to look at her.
"Hmm? Oh, I'm going to eat in the academy canteen and then watch some matches of the students from other courses."
"O-Oh, I see…C-C-Can I go e-eat and watch with you?"
"Sure!"
He happily agreed while obviously not getting the underlying meaning of Shirley's invitation.
Their classmates saw everything and tried their best not to react lest they spoil Shirley's plans.
"Go go, Shirley! We're rooting for you~"

At the academy canteen, Shye was eating happily while Shirley was a bit nervous making it quite obvious that she was treating this as a date.
Unfortunately for her, Shye wasn't thinking about such things right now. The only thing he's thinking about right now is where to spend his points.
Still, the two of them chatted from time to time while eating.
"Ahh~ that was delicious…"
Shye rubbed his satisfied belly after eating everything he wanted from the canteen.
He didn't hold back at all because he knew that he would never have to go back to living life as a street rat.
Even if they ran out of money, he could just hunt some creatures and sell their parts for money.
Unfortunately, eating luxurious food at restaurants is still a bit too expensive for him so he has to eat at the canteen for now.
After eating, Shye and Shirley walked out of the canteen and walked towards the mage course arena.
Upon arriving, the two of them were excited after hearing about the current match-up.
"1st-rank David Houdini's class, 2nd-rank Harry Copperfield's class, please come up to the stage!"
