Tieya led her to bathe, using some fragrant bath oils to steam the chill away. It also made her skin silky and smell very nice, a mix of vanilla and berries.
The scent clung to her freshly washed and combed hair, wafting toward her as she exited her chambers.
The guards around her glanced in her direction briefly, but did not stare; they knew their empress well enough by now.
It felt decadent and indulgent to walk around in her dressing robe, with her long, wavy blonde hair hanging down freely and bare feet tucked into soft house slippers.
Even though the palace was her home, it didn't feel private due to how expansive it was and how full of other people.
But sometimes she could literally let her hair down and walk around in just a robe...!
She was empress, after all.
