A servant knocked at the door and then entered. "Your Majesties, lunch has been prepared." She announced, her voice calm and even, "If you please, will you come to the dining room?"
"We will. Thank you for coming to tell us." Isabelle smiled graciously, taking a deep breath, forcing a polite and demure expression to her face. "Can you show us the way?"
She had to remain at her best in a foreign country.
The girl nodded and curtseyed. "This way, your Majesty, my lords." She told them, beckoning toward the door. "Lunch will be waiting for you in the dining hall."
"Very well. Lead the way." Alexander spoke in a somewhat flat and emotionless tone, arms still folded over his chest as he glanced toward the exit.
Isabelle stood slowly, cradling the slumbering kitten to her breasts.
She moved out of the room, following the girl and the others as they filed out and down the hallway.
