Chereads / CEO'S ROGUE ALPHA / Chapter 3 - BACKLASH FROM THE DINNER

Chapter 3 - BACKLASH FROM THE DINNER

I walked back to the living room to clear the table, picked up the whiskey bottle and put it back in the cabinet. The glassed that we used, I dumped them in the kitchen sink as I picked up the coat and tie, heading to my room.

After a shower and a change of clothes, I slipped under the covers and I struggled to sleep. My wolf was restless, and I went for a run in the backwoods that surrounded the Freki mansion.

It was quite a beautiful, starry night. The skies were clear as the cold picked in and the light from the Mansion disappeared as I ran deeper into the woods. An hour into the woods, I came up to the end of the lake and breathed in the mountain air. My wolf sighed, and I felt the calm return in my mind.

No one in the Golden pack had seen my wolf except for Zeeb.

"The strong Alpha scent makes me happy, "My wolf whined.

"You are being naughty Freki," I laughed through our mind link.

Freki was the name of my white wolf. Large than most wolves, he stood taller than a horse and his naughty nature saved my ass a lot of times.

"Lucian, we need him. Don't delay it," He commanded.

I ran until I came to the secluded area, hidden by the caves, and lay down. I decided to rest for a while in my wolf form and I closed my eyes as fatigue took over. Hours later, I returned to the mansion, at dawn and the noise I made while closing the pation door must have disturbed Zeeb. He walked out of the room and then gasped, "Jesus, Lucian, put some clothes on."

"This is my home Zeeb," I stated as my feet padded on the wooden floor as I made my way to the bedroom.

"Arrogant asshole," Zeeb yelled, and I heard in the kitchen opening cabinets and I knew he was rampaging the place to find food. I stood in the shower for ten minutes, dressed, and rushed to the kitchen before Zeeb made a mess out of it. "Move away from the cooker Zeeb before you burn the house down," I yelled from the door and his hearty laughter was so loud it echoed in the kitchen.

An hour later, we sat down to have breakfast, as Zeeb gobbled down all the sausages and bacon without care.

"Where does all the food go?" I chuckled.

"A man's gotta eat. I slept hungry after you went mental at the Golden Pack dinner."

"Compliment accepted. "I responded to Zeeb, who shook his head and rolled his eyes.

"Did you even sleep?" He demanded.

"Slept in the woods," I grinned at him.

Zeeb's phone buzzed on the table and swiped to answer the call, putting it on speaker.

"What is it, Amelia? "It was Zeeb's pa who was calling.

"Alpha Lobo is here at the corporation. He is demanding to see CEO Lucian. Isla CEO Lucian's PA tried to reach him, but his phone was off. "

"Demanding? I forgot to charge my phone last night, "I spoke up.

"CEO Lucian." Isla spoke up, "He is already in your office.

Hunter and Lawyer Rowan have accompanied him. I heard them talking about Due Corporation shares bought by Alpha Lobo from businessman Delcan Brooks."

"Shit!" Zeeb cursed and banged the table.

"Zeeb and I shall be in the office in the next twenty minutes." I pulled Zeeb's phone from his hands and pressed the disconnect button.

The look on Zeeb's face was an "I told you so!"

"Whatever," I cursed at him. "Be ready in twenty minutes," I snapped while standing and walked to the bedroom to prepare for the office. Half an hour later, we arrived at the Due Corporation and I strolled into my office.

Alpha Lobo sat on the couch, legs crossed and looking like he owned the whole world.

"His wolf's scent is irritating," Freki seethed through our mind link.

Reaching my office desk, pulled my chair, and sat down. Isla rushed in and placed a cup of coffee on my desk while Zeeb leaned on the door, waiting for my next move. It was in a matter of seconds before the Deputy CEO of Due Corporation, Boris Carter, who was my cousin, walked in.

"Good Morning Lucian," His voice was laced with sarcasm. "Alpha Lobo arrived early to see you, but you had not arrived at work."

"Since when do I report to you, Carter? " I drawled.

"Lucian, how long are you going to remain arrogant? I have been sitting in your office for over two hours," Alpha Lobo interjected.

"Did you make an appointment to see me?" I swung my chair to face him.

I could see the annoyed looks of lawyer Rowan and Pack enforcer Hunter's faces as they stood by the couch.

"Alpha Lobo does not need to make an appointment to come to the Due Corporation," Carter snapped at me.

I raised my eyebrows at him and leaned back in the chair. My eyes blazed at him and he looked away in fear. "By whose rules are you speaking from?"

"Come on Lucian, please don't be difficult," '' Carter responded in a hushed tone. "Leave!" I banged the table and yelled.

Carter rushed out of the office in fear, while Zeeb shook his head in disappointment. At that moment, Amelia Zeeb's PA walked in, handed him a file, and left.

"Alpha Lobo, since you already barged into my office uninvited, what can I do for you?" I finally spoke to him.

Lawyer Rowan was the one who spoke up. "We are here to present the transfer of shares document from Declan Brooks to Alpha Lobo. The representation of the shares in the company stakes is at twenty percent." He walked over and handed the documents to me.

I perused through the document and then turned to Zeeb, raising an eyebrow. "Aren't you going to have a look?"

"No need for it CEO Lucian. Declan Brooks cannot transfer his shares until he pays off the loan he owes to Due Corporation," Zeeb stated as he walked over to hand Lawyer Rowan the file he was holding.

"Loan?" Lawyer Rowan asked in confusion. "What are you talking about?" He took the file, perused through it, and cursed.

"What is it?" Alpha Lobo asked.

Lawyer Rowan's face was laced with fear as he briefed Alpha Lobo "Due Corporation financed Declan Brooks a year ago. Based on the terms of the agreement, he used the shares he holds as collateral."
