The outcome of Ace and Joanna's love life instantly became the subject of a bet. From senior management to cleaners, the entire H Group enthusiastically participated in it. They all looked forward to the pay day! CEO's Office.
"What's going on?"
Ace's originally calm expression immediately faltered the moment the door closed. He asked Susan urgently, "Who's Joanna running away with?"
Susan could tell from Ace's reaction that her iceberg of a son had truly fallen in love this time.
She did not know whether to be happy or not at that.
" I don't know who that guy is. He's quite tall and handsome and has a wild feel to him. He's completely different from you. If Joanna's taste has really changed, you're in trouble…"
Susan told him honestly.
Ace was emotional, but he pretended not to care. He shrugged and said casually, "So what if her taste has changed? We're already divorced. She's free to like whatever type of man she wants. It's none of my concern."
"You brat! Are you really gonna act tough in front of me?!"
Susan felt the urge to kick Ace.

"If you really don't care, then sure, let her get away. Don't let me catch you crying into your blanket at night."
Susan exclaimed angrily, "That good-looking guy said he's gonna take Joanna to see his parents. He didn't look like he was lying. If you have the balls, go get her back right now!"
Ace's heart suddenly tightened. He asked tentatively, "Was the man Liam Blackwood?"
"No!'
Susan said, "If it was that Blackwood brat, I wouldn't be so worried. Joanna and Liam Blackwood were obviously just fooling around. They're not serious…"
"But this good-looking guy is different. He has an aura about him, so he should have a considerable background, at least on par with yours!"

Ace's handsome face was cold and silent.

Susan shook her head and said, "I can understand where she's coming from. If I really love someone, I wouldn't be able to stand it either. So… you must abandon one of them."
"I won't do anything to Alice."
Ace's attitude was firm.
This confused Susan.
"Son, what are you thinking? You obviously don't like Alice, so why are you protecting her at the cost of hurting the person you like?"
"There are more than affection and love in this world. There are also things like responsibility and morality… If she really detests Alice to that extent, it can only mean that we're not actually a good fit."
Ace said with clenched fists.
Susan found his words hard to understand. "Then what are you going to do now? Are you really gonna let Joanna meet with that guy's parents? Are you sure you're okay with that?"
Ace's expression was cold and indifferent. "She can do whatever she wants. She's single now. It's not like I can tie her up."
Susan glared at her son with a frown, lamenting his incompetence and lamenting his misfortune. "Yeah, keep acting tough. I hope you won't regret this."
To be honest, it was not as if she liked Joanna that much. She only wanted her as a daughter-in-law because her son had fallen in love with her.

The aroma of the lemon chicken filled the entire office.
Ace stared at his mother who was gnawing at chicken without any care for how unladylike she looked, his handsome face filled with confusion. "Mom, what are you doing?"
"What do you think I'm doing? I'm eating chicken ."
Susan answered impatiently.
She had to admit, the lemon chicken Joanna made tasted really good. She could not stop eating them.
The chicken alone were worth encouraging Ace to get Joanna back. That way, she would be able to eat these chicken regularly.
Ace had never seen Susan eat like this before. He could not help but feel intrigued by the chicken . He asked, "Is there anything special about these chicken ? Why do you have to eat them in front of me?"
Instead of answering, Susan gave him a mysterious smile. She handed Ace a chicken foot and said, "Eat this first. I'll tell you after that."
Ace frowned and had a look of disdain on his face. "You know I've never liked these kind of things."
"If you don't try it, how would you know if you'll like it or not? Maybe it'll surprise you."
Because it was lunch time and Ace happened to be hungry, he reluctantly took one and slowly tasted it.
"How was it? Was it delicious? Did it surprise you?"
Susan asked impatiently.
Ace nodded and replied truthfully, "It's the most delicious chicken foot I've ever had."
He usually ate Western food. Even when he had Chinese food, he would usually have high-class Chinese food. He would rarely eat street food like chicken .
He did not think they look that good, so he had refrained from trying them, but now that he had one, he thought it actually tasted really good!
Like Susan, after he finished one, he could not help eating another one.
Susan saw that the time was right, so she told him, "Joanna made these chicken . She specifically asked me to bring some for you. Have you ever had them during the three years you were married to her?"
Ace suddenly stopped. "She made these?"
He now recalled that, when he had no choice but to go back to the Moran Villa for dinner in the past, there seemed to be chicken like these on the table, but he did not think they looked good, so he did not even try one.
"I can tell from your reaction that this is the first time you've had them too… "
