"How has your father been feeling lately?" Dominique Smith's voice snapped Sabrina back to the present. Her mind had been so preoccupied that she failed to notice his presence.

Sabrina found a sense of relief upon seeing her husband's face. "He's been a bit weak… His health steadily declining. The doctor said we have to prepare for the worst." 

She gave him a grateful look. "Thank you, Love, for being here, despite your hectic schedule in the company." Her husband frequently asked about her father's health. Sabrina, touched by his concern, started to rely on him so much.

Feeling the need to recharge, she stood up and ran in his direction, throwing herself at her husband as she sought comfort in his embrace. However, Dominique held her shoulders and gently pushed her away. 

Sabrina gazed up only to be met by a pair of cold eyes. She was stupefied for a few seconds because this was the first time she saw her husband's distant and cold behavior towards her.

"What's wrong, Love? Are you mad at me?" Sabrina asked him in puzzlement, confusion mingled with her growing sense of anxiety. Dominique had never treated her like this before. He was always considerate and gentle. 

Without a second thought, Dominique handed her a stack of papers, his expression serious and calculated. 

"Sign this," he sternly said. 

Sabrina frowned as she gazed at him intently. She felt like she was talking to a stranger, not her sweet loving husband. For some unknown reason, his demeanor was a bit different from his usual self.

She accepted the papers and decided to read the contents. As she flipped through the documents, her heart constricted with each passing page.

"Love… What is this?" She smiled at him anxiously. "What kind of prank is this? This is not funny." There was denial at first, Sabrina refusing to believe what was written on the papers. It was a divorce petition from her husband, a startling and unforeseen development that left her reeling.

"I want a divorce," Dominique declared.

A sudden wave of shock and disbelief resurfaced on her face as the words sunk into her system. She shook her head vehemently, her hands trembling as she clutched the legal document tightly. Its contents pierced through her heart like a dagger.

Sabrina's breath caught in her throat, her mind still struggling to comprehend the suddenness of the situation. She stood frozen, torn between the mounting concern for her father's health and the shocking blow of her crumbling marriage.

"Why? Why are you doing this? Did I do something wrong?" 

As the weight of the divorce papers settled on her shoulders, Sabrina's heart felt heavy with a blend of emotions—confusion, hurt, and disbelief. Already facing her family's own crisis, this unforeseen event added another layer of turmoil to her already chaotic life.

Meanwhile, Dominique smirked at her, unveiling his true motives. 

"Simply because… I'm done with you. I'm done pretending that I am madly in love with you. It's time to end this beautiful act since I already achieved my ultimate goal." Dominique grabbed her face, pinching her jaw with force.

"The old man is dying and I already acquired your entire family's wealth." Dominique had schemed and manipulated, underhandedly transferring the company shares and wealth to his name, exploiting the vulnerability caused by Albert Williams' terminal illness. 

"You have no use for me anymore," he added, his eyes mocking her.

His unexpected plea for divorce settled like a leaden anchor in Sabrina's chest, her world shattering around her. She had believed in the sanctity of their marriage, cherished their vows, and trusted Dominique with unwavering faith. 

But it turned out everything was just a lie. Her husband's actions were not born out of love or genuine care but were instead a calculated ploy to seize her family's fortune.

She hadn't recovered yet from this shocking revelation when another figure joined them. Sasha, Dominique's hot alluring secretary, stepped into the room. Upon reaching Dominique's spot, she smiled broadly, anchoring her arms around his.

"Babe, is Mrs. Smith done signing the divorce paper?" She smiled at Sabrina tauntingly.

'Babe? She called my husband Babe… Are they having an affair?' Sabrina darted her gaze back and forth between Dominique and Sasha, her eyes filled with accusation.

Not breaking their eye-to-eye contact, Dominique placed his hand on Sasha's waist, pulling her closer to him. He didn't say a word but his gesture confirmed Sabrina's assumption.

'Oh Damn! My husband is cheating on me with his secretary!'

Slap!

Sabrina managed to land a crisp slap on Dominique's right cheek. The loud sound resonated in the study room. Dominique just chuckled sarcastically in response to her, his hand rubbing the spot where he was hit.

Anguish and hatred mingled in Sabrina's heart, her eyes welling with tears as her belief in a happy marriage had been shattered by Dominique's greed and betrayal.

One slap couldn't satiate Sabrina's fury so she threw several fierce punches at him, hitting Dominique's chest in a fit of uncontrolled rage.

"Dominique, How could you!!! I hate you!!! You lied to me! You deceived me… you deceived my father. We trusted you!" Sabrina's voice trembled with a potent mix of hurt and fury, her eyes brimming with tears that mirrored the storm brewing inside her. 

She continued punching him with her remaining strength. Though Dominique was the one receiving her punches, she was the one who was hurting.

'Oh god… please wake me up from this nightmare. I hope this is just a nightmare…' Sabrina had wishful thinking, refusing to accept this truth.

Her vision blurred with tears, her chest heaving up and down as she panted. Sabrina's world seemed to spin out of control. The intensity of this revelation overwhelmed her, the weight of betrayal and deceit proving too much to bear.

"Stop hurting him, Bitch!" Sasha stepped forward, separating her from Dominique. She couldn't bear to watch Dominique being attacked by Sabrina.

Since Sasha interfered, Sabrina redirected her anger toward her. She reached out, grabbing Sasha's hair. But Sasha retaliated by pulling Sabrina's hair as well. In his attempt to stop the two women from fighting, Dominique pushed Sabrina forcefully away from Sasha. She hit the wall with a loud thud.

The room spun, her senses overwhelmed by conflicting emotions. The aftermath of her husband's betrayal and the emotional upheaval had taken a toll, draining every ounce of Sabrina's energy, her body limp and her heart shattered.

Unable to withstand the turmoil, her body succumbed. And with a heavy thud, she collapsed to the floor, falling unconscious as her world was engulfed with darkness.
