Chapter 76 - CHAPTER 76

A handsome man in a black suit walked down from the second floor.

"Vernom!"

Joanna's eyes widened in surprise.

He had disappeared after letting her go when he didn't reveal her identity as Cyber Queen in front of Ace the last time.

She thought he'd returned to his city.

This left her to assume he must harbor a hidden motive for suddenly appearing in her house and helping her clean.

"Judging from the disappointed look on your face, I guess I'm unwelcome?"

He walked to the middle of the stairs and looked down at Joanna. His smile had a sense of wickedness to it. "I've been busy since the afternoon. I'm so tired that I feel like my back is going to break. If anything happens to me, you're the one responsible."

"Ahem!"

Joanna shuddered from embarrassment.

She never thought that the intelligent hacker would be this flirtatious.

"Stop your gloating and get down here!"

Liam glared at Vernom and stated sternly. "There's no way you'll do all these without a price. If it weren't for my sister's wish, I wouldn't have allowed you wouldn't allow you to come anywhere near the Pierce house!"

Vernom lifted his eyebrows slightly and mocked Liam. "Seeing as to how you've sacrificed so much for Joanna in the past few years, I wonder what's your motive?"

"We're not the same. I'm Boss's underling. She saved my life before!"

"Well, I'm a level above you."

Vernom lifted his head in pride, revealing his perfect sharp jawline. "Cyber Queen and I are the Bonnie and Clyde of the hacker world. We are soulmates. Do you understand?"

"Hahaha!"

Liam lost his calm and made a childish throwing–up expression. "Soulmates? What a joke! Do you even have a soul? You're not worthy enough to be Boss' soulmate."

"You don't get to determine if I'm worthy. Cyber Queen is now single, so all of us get a shot. If you're worthy of her, then so am I."

The two men were like dogs and cats who couldn't stand each other, and they began to argue again.

"You're arguing again." Clara rolled her eyes helplessly.

They had been at it since the moment they met this morning, and whenever it got too heated, they would start fighting.

Clara was tired, and she regretted putting them two together.

After all, both men were actually fighting for a woman.

"It doesn't matter if you're the underlying or soulmate. To Joanna, you're just a backup."

Clara's words made the two men instantly quieten down.

Vernom stuffed his hands into his pocket. He put on the mysterious and wicked look that he always exerted as he said arrogantly, "I admit that I admire Cyber Queen, but I'm not going to be anyone's backup."

At this time, Liam said indifferently, "It's not called backup, but profound love. People these days do not wish to be so dedicated to love."

His love for Joanna has always been passionate and unrestrained.

He was proud of the love he had for her, but if his unconditional love was seen as backup, then so be it.

"You're good at manipulating yourself."

Vernom grew up in a tough environment. He had never known or believed in love. Yet Liam's bravery and presumptuousness changed his impression.

"You're more manly than the ones who don't dare to confess their love."

Hearing this, Joanna frowned. "Who are you talking about? Who doesn't dare to confess their love?"

She wasn't shocked that someone had feelings for her, but since Vernom mentioned the person, she knew they weren't ordinary people.

Vernom just smiled but did not respond right away. He held his phone in his hands and muttered mysteriously, "I'm reminding all of you to check out the trending section on Twitter. You'll be interested!"

The three of them looked confused as they opened their phones.

Then, Clara began to scream.

"Oh my god! I can't believe this. Are Joan and Ace trending on Twitter now?"

At the same time, both Joanna and Liam stared at their phones as they were shocked by the news.

Most of the topics trending were about Ace and Joanna.

"Oh my! It's a video of Mr. Moran begging his ex–wife, trying to win her back!"

"How did he become a simp!"

"If a CEO can become a simp, why can't ordinary guys become one?"

"This is Mr. Moran's first step in his attempt to win back his wife."

Every item she clicked on had a video of Ace tightly clutching Joanna and refusing to let her go. It was sweet but humorous, and it was really an interesting video!

Netizens began a heated discussion and even made funny edits to the video. As a result, the video remained at the top of the trending searches.

"Hahahahahaha!"

After a long time of silence, Liam and Clara eventually burst out laughing.

"Boss, is this video real or edited? It's too funny!"

"I can't imagine the cold and noble Ace would be this desperate. It's a lot of fun to watch this!"

"As amazing as he is, the whole world now knows that he's your biggest simp. I can't compete."

Joanna was embarrassed, and she felt that she was being publicly punished. Instantly, she snatched their phones. "Stop watching it. He'll hold on to anyone he sees when he's drunk!"

"But he was calling your name. Could he be regretting letting you go?"

Clara's eyes sparkled with excitement as she realized the tragic couple's chances of rekindling.

"Impossible!"

Joanna was firm, explaining sensibly, "He's just trying to exact vengeance since he lost the finger game."

"I would like to urge everyone to pretend you didn't see anything. He's a vindictive guy who would murder you without a blink of an eye!"

Liam wasn't afraid of Ace at all. He laughed, "How can I pretend I didn't see it when it's trending all over Twitter? Boss, why are you scared? He's the shameless one here, and he should be ashamed. You, on the other hand, look so cool when you walk away!"

At the mention of this, Liam wanted to watch the video again, but he realized that the app wasn't working anymore as he couldn't click on it.

Not only that, but any mention of the video had also been removed from the internet.

"It's no surprise he's the CEO of Moran Group. He managed to take the video down so quickly!"

Vernom looked arrogant, saying, "But I don't mind posting the video and letting the whole world laugh at him again whenever I

feel like it."

Hearing this, Joanna turned and gazed sharply at him. "Where did you get the video?"

"I stole it from their company's website."

"Although the video was only released for 0.03 seconds, and regular people can't download it so quickly, I could," he stated arrogantly. "It's his misfortune that a genius like me can download it."

"Damn! No wonder you're a genius!"

Clara was in awe of Vernom and expressed his adoration. "Before this, you approached me and said you wanted to be friends with us with the condition that you pull a prank on Ace. I wasn't expecting you to really accomplish it… Congratulations, you are now a member of our Anti–Ace Club!"

Although Liam didn't like Vernom that much, he welcomed anyone who disliked Ace.

"You're quite the capable one. Welcome to the Anti–Ace Club."

He reached out his hand towards Vernom.

They all fist–bumped each other and looked to set to fight Ace..

This dumbfounded Joanna. "What's an Anti–Ace Club?"

"Fight Ace and protect Joanna. We will fight till our last breath!"

Clara shouted the slogan with enthusiasm while Liam and Vernom joined her.

"Fight till our last breath!"

"Fight till our last breath!"

They seemed to be goofing around, but Joanna felt a sense of warmth in her heart.

Although her family had left her, she wasn't alone at all. They were now her family.

Joanna vowed that she would restore the Pierce family to its former glory!
