It is very dark in here, and damp. A slight fog seems to be everywhere. Celeste summons a magic ball of light and bids it hover overhead as we make our way forward, the beams of light providing silent visibility.
The atmosphere of this place is suffocating. Where that underground city had once been meant as a place for an entire civilization to come and go and thrive within, this place is the very opposite: designed for none to enter and any fool who dared to enter anyway to never leave.
I shiver involuntarily as we step deeper into the shadows, watching as they play tricks on my eyes, creating the illusion of movement in my periphery. The magic lights are our only illumination here.
As we come to the first intersection, Valentine stops to face us, "Stay close."
