A painful groan escaped her slightly parted lips as she struggled to open her eyes. The more she tried, the more powerful the hold of the darkness became on her. It felt like the darkness refused to let her go.
Amid all the chaos and pain, she felt something cold and soft touching her burning body, immediately providing her with relief. A cold breath touched her ear and she heard a familiar voice gently whispering to her - "It's alright. Don't panic. I'm right here with you. Try to relax and open your eyes slowly."
