Chapter 4 - TAMPERING WITH CONSTELLATIONS

TAMPERING WITH CONSTELLATIONS

"Why are they arresting people with Angel Affinity?" I asked Saye.

"Didn't you know about it already? The Church suspects the Dark Angel of Revelations will arise again and they are taking away anyone with superhuman abilities. The Dark Angel will be someone born with extraordinary abilities and Jaipore is one of them", Saye replied to me.

"Damnit, its my fault again", I said to myself because I am the person who harbored the soul of the Dark Angel in my soul realm, not Jaipore, or talented good people like him.

"There is nothing we can do to help Jaipore. It is his choice to attack you in public, revealing his secrets", Saye told me.

"Damn, I can't reveal my secrets in public too", I complained to myself.

------

After the fight with Jaipore, I was in no mood for school.

The advantages of being a rich bully were, I could skip school and play truant at any time that I wanted.

"Is there a quiet place, I want to be isolated and train", I told Saye.

"Your father has a secret orchard in the hills, you can go there to train", Saye told me.

So, we went to the quiet orchard in the hills to practice my newest templar skill.

Templar magic was the magic system of the Ten-Kingdoms, and I was awakened to this magic system when I was reborn into this world.

Templar magic is conjured by the linking of the magic of stars in the constellation of our templar sky realms that we obtained when we awakened this system of magic.

The constellation of the magic Starfire Flash was quite similar to my Sword of Nyx and the effects were similar as well, so I experimented with the constellation and added and swapped the stars to experience different effects for the conjuration.

I've learned earlier that it was possible to combine the constellations of similar templar skills to enhance and improve the magic of the skill. I hoped to combine the two skills to create something that was better.

"What are you doing? You can't fuse two different skills together it will hurt you if something goes wrong", Saye warned me.

What Saye warned me about was true because the effects of combining unknown and untested constellations may have unintended consequences which may cause harm to me.

"Boom…Kaboom"

Right after Saye warned me, my conjuration exploded in front of me that caused the rupture of the ground around me.

The explosion was quite strong in that it shook the foundation of the ground and caused ash and soil to rise into the air to surround me with a cloud of mixed matters.

"I told you not to try it, see now you killed yourself. What am I going to tell the mother now?", Saye said to me and complained as she looked among the cloud of ash that my skill created for my dead corpse.

"Don't worry, this skill can't kill me", I told Saye as I appeared from the ash cloud which shocked her.

Saye was stunned that I wasn't killed by my reckless magic fusion.

"How did you survive that powerful explosion?" Saye asked me but I didn't answer her.

I was awakened in Templar magic with a so called, Angel Affinity which gave me four times more magical stars, which in turn, gave me a much stronger passive magic body armor that could absorb most harm. This was further augmented by my bone magic.

"Hey, that explosion gave me an idea about a new combination", I said to the girl as I conjured my magic again.

"What in hell? Aren't you going to stop?", Saye asked me.

"Not until I learned to improve this constellation", I replied to her.

"Flaming Starfire"

Suddenly, a dozen fiery flashes came out of my hands that rushed in front of me. The fiery flashes destroyed a few dozen trees that were in front of me and the ground that they were on.

"What did you conjure? That is such a powerful skill. Don't tell me you are going to show off that skill as Oriese? No one will believe you," Saye told me.

"Yes, maybe your master Oriese is an awakened genius", I told her.

"You will be arrested by the Church immediately if you cast such magic in public. Even your father won't be able to stop the Inquisitors taking you back to Elis for reform", Saye told me.

"Don't, worry, I'm not going to cast this in public", I replied to her.

Saye couldn't stop me from experimenting with my templar magic, so she forced me out of my practice.

"You should go around town to show your face. People thought you are already dead. Go back to town and bully some pathetic people", Saye told me.

"Ok, let's go to Staari City then", I replied to her.

I was done with experimenting anyway, but I had other ideas with respect to bullying. My bullying days were over, and it was time to announce it to the world.

-----

Staari city stood as a testament to wealth and prosperity, with towering marble structures adorned with intricate carvings and glistening gold accents, reminiscent of a time when extravagance knew no bounds.

For Staari city, extravagance in the city was limited only by the imagination.

At the heart of the city lies the magnificent Church of All-seeing, a symbol of religious reverence and power, its spires reaching towards the heavens as if trying to bridge the gap between mortal and divine. The church was a masterpiece of architectural splendor, with stained glass windows depicting religious scenes, and its facade adorned with precious gems and metals that catch the light and shimmer like stars in the night sky.

This was the most important church building in the whole of the Ten-Kingdoms continent because this was the head office of the church in this world.

The church in Staari city acted as a warehouse for the Apostles, collecting all the tithes from around the Ten-Kingdoms here before they were checked and delivered to Elis, the realm of the Apostles.

The streets of the city were lined with bustling market stalls, displaying goods from every corner of the continent. Exotic spices, silks of vibrant hues, precious gemstones, and rare artifacts were just a few examples of the luxurious offerings found here.

The luxury trade in the city wasn't because the city was wealthy or had a rich economy. Staari city was merely a collection point before all the tithes of the church reached Elis.

Not everything collected from the Ten-Kingdoms would be sent to Elis because Elis doesn't want everything that was offered to them. Some of the tithe goods from the Ten-Kingdoms were first exchanged for goods that Elis wanted. Therefore, merchants from far-flung lands gathered to take advantage of this trade.

Yet, beneath the surface of abundance and extravagance, there may also lie a stark contrast. The vast wealth collected here may not reach the less fortunate, leaving some areas impoverished and forgotten, hidden away from the opulence of the main streets.

In this rich city, where luxury from all corners of the continent converges, there was a delicate balance between ostentatious opulence and the potential to address the needs of the less fortunate.

It is also in this city that the rich were privileged and could do much as they pleased to the less fortunate. There was no law in the city for the rich, only for the poor.

-----

As I walked on the street in the Market the people ran off when they saw me come. They seemed to be afraid of me for some reason although I've not done anything to them, yet.

"What are they running from?" I asked Saye.

"From you of course. Every time you come you would find a kid to beat and break the things in the stalls", Saye informed me.

"Oh really, I did all that?", I asked her to which she just ignored me.

Suddenly, several boys my age came over to greet me.

"Master Oriese, see who we brought with us today", one of the boys said to me.

"Don't hurt me please," the boy pleaded with me.

"What the hell are you doing, erm… Agrilla?" I asked Agrilla, one of my goons in school.

"This Yagma goes around telling people that you tried to touch his butt", Agrilla explained to me.

"You did touch the boy's butt", Saye reminded me.

"I'll be damned", I told myself.

When I was young, I was often bullied by the sons of the Baron in my village. This Yagma boy reminded me of those times when I was beaten almost to death by Michonn and his goons.

Now, I became exactly like Michonn after I took over Oriese' face. The worst part was this Oriese was a shameless pervert who likes boys' butts.

"I'm definitely not going to act out this character. Why the hell did you choose this guy to be my alter ego?", I asked Saye.

"You can't be reckless otherwise people will know you are not him and blow your cover", Saye said to me without answering my question.

"The hell with my cover", I replied to her.
