Fil rested her arms against the railing whilst holding a glass of wine. Aside from the parking space down below, there wasn't anything to see from the balcony of her room. But the cool night breeze and a glass of wine were often a good combination to unwind. After all, Fil had to think. 

[So yes, I like you. How much? That, I don't know. That's why I'm dating you with the thought of marrying. Because if I consider that, then asking for your hand answers the question of how much.]

After hearing those words, Fil was genuinely rendered speechless. Not because she wasn't expecting them, but because of how they were delivered. She didn't expect how such words could carry such weight.

A glint flickered across her sharp eyes, remembering the look on Marcus' face. 

"He's falling faster than I expected," she whispered, gazing down the balcony. "He'll crash."
