Feng Wu gave Feng Xun a strange look. "Are you serious?"
Feng Xun nodded.
Feng Wu said, "Don't you think there's something wrong with Tuberose?"
Feng Xun was confused. "What's wrong with her?"
Feng Wu didn't know what to say.
Was it because men and women saw things differently? Why did Miss Lotus see through Tuberose's plan right away? Why couldn't Feng Xun see it?
"She's quite pretty." Feng Xun grinned. "She looks docile, has been trained, and knows how to serve people. If you ever need a maid, feel free to have her serve you."
Feng Wu said, "Thank you, but that won't be necessary."
Only then did Feng Xun realize how serious the situation was.
"What's wrong ?" He looked at Feng Wu in bewilderment. "Her life was so miserable. Her father died, and her mother remarried. Her stepfather then sold her to a brothel, and she had a hard time living there. She was getting beaten up every day…"
Feng Wu felt a headache coming on.
