I grab Colm in my arms and he wraps his tiny fingers around my neck. His eyes bore into mine and my heart melts inside my chest. It has been a year and I still get weak from looking at my babies.
They are identical but they have different characters.
Colm is the attention seeker. The one that people notice first. He is loud and a nagger but I love him to death. I have a bond with the two of them. One that I never even imagined I would have.
It is instant and uncontrollable.
"Why are you always the one that wakes up at night,'' I tell him as I stand up from the bed quietly and walk out of the room. Colin is in their room like he always is but I go to his room to make sure like I always do when Colm wakes up.
The door is ajar and I see the star wars night light through the space.
