Caleb sneaked into his room to take a shower before going out. Despite being a little uncomfortable, he was in good enough shape to roam around, and his scent was low enough to be masked by a commercial pheromone.
With almost no contact with the outside world from the Cabin, especially in a situation like this kind of drove him crazy in there. After coming out and getting changed he felt his brother was trying to link him. Realizing that it must be an emergency, he responded immediately.
