Thea was happy that she could now change her future with Erick and be able to enjoy a life full of love. She still can't believe that she went back in time ten years. As she roamed her eyes to all the tall structures she was unfamiliar with, everything appeared different. She pondered as she walked slowly into the grocery store. Thea made the decision to go food shopping since she wanted to prepare Erick's favorite meal for supper tomorrow.
She had never had the chance to prepare food for him in her prior life. Because of their lack of communication and the fact that to Thea, her husband Erick was only a name on a piece of paper and an essential component of her inheritance—a provision that his grandfather had made in his will so that Thea would receive the La Roche conglomerate she needed to wed General Warton.
Today, however, things are different, and she will happily consent to marry General Erick Warton. Thea was aware that she was being selfish by trying to impose her will on Erick, but she also understood that her current appearance did not suit Erick. Nonetheless, she resolved that she will do whatever it takes to capture's Erick's heart
The only thing Thea has going for her when she escapes from prison is her will to live. Though after she got out she wanted to terminate her agony but opted not to. Thea wants to endure the suffering and sadness until her final breath on earth as a form of atonement for all the wrong things she has done in her life.
Thea laughed as she recalled her previous experiences living in the slum neighborhood.
Living in privilege since she was young, Thea struggled to find employment after entering prison, and the only position that would hire her was as a waiter at a small Chinese restaurant downtown that was run by an elderly couple who lived in the small slum alley where all the dangerous people and notorious criminals lived. She is hired by the elderly Chinese couple, where she picks up many skills, including eventually learning how to cook.
"Some say that the route to a man's heart is through his stomach."
Thea remembers Erick constantly eating the food in their house and even in the restaurant before they got divorced, which is the only weird thing about the restaurant's special dish, which is the stir-fried beef broccoli.
Thea realized she had all the ingredients she needed in her basket, minus the meat, after remembering her past. She quickly moves forward to get the last remaining piece of meat after spotting it from a distance.
Thea eagerly reached out to grab the item and murmured, "This time I'll cook for you, Erick."
The only piece of meat on the shelf was taken by someone from Thea's side before she could grab it, which caught Thea off guard.
Thea screamed loudly in one breath, not glancing at the individual whose eyes were suddenly wide open to the yelling Thea, "What the...do you have any manners...can't you see that I'm already in front of the stall and yet you snatched the item."
Thea is furious because this is the last one and it's already late at night. She knows from her previous experience working in a restaurant that the shelves won't be restocked until the next morning, which means she won't be able to prepare Erick's favorite dish, further aggravating Thea.
Thea finally confronted the person who stole the beef from the stand, ready to fight over the item, but as soon as she saw the guy's face, her courage instantly disappeared. Thea's face fell in shock as she stumbled backward on her feet. She doesn't anticipate running into him right now, in this location.
Thea said inaudibly, "E-rick," which caused the man to frown.
Thea's lips clenched and she was unable to speak as the man added, "Miss?" in a deep, hoarse voice.
Since he didn't have any food in his fridge when he first got to his Westfield apartment, Erick decided to go to the supermarket. This led to him standing in front of a woman who was yelling at him and mumbling something he couldn't understand. Normally, Erick doesn't go out, but he was on vacation and had some spare time.
Miss, are you okay? Erick was confused as to why the woman in front of him was staring at him intently when just moments previously she had been ranting at him about the item.
With a gulp, Erick panics because he has no idea what to do. He can see that the woman in front of him is about to cry over some things he took. He only desired to prepare his lunch. He pondered.
While Erick was accustomed to seeing women's eyes on him while he worked or attended certain events, he had never before experienced the kind of intense attention that the woman he had just met in the supermarket gave him while staring into her tear-filled eyes.
Erick blurted out all the words in a rush, "I'm sorry, I didn't see you earlier, do you perhaps also want the item? I believe it's the only one remaining. Wait here... I'll ask someone if there's still another in stock." Normally a man of few words, he felt compelled to speak today. He walked with long legs in the direction of the first staff he saw in the corner. Thea was left in a trance.
Thea was still speechless and in a state of disbelief when Erick misread her expression. Her entire body tingles when she unexpectedly and unpreparedly sees Erick since she misses him so much. When Thea was in a coma, she could only hear Erick's voice and experience his touch.
However, now that she can see Erick's face for the first time since their divorce and regression, Thea's heart begins to race at the sight of him. She is unable to control both her emotions and her confused thoughts.
She chewed her lower lips and thought, what you should do?
Thea was attempting to make sense of why she met Erick today rather than their scheduled meeting tomorrow. As she's not supposed to be in the supermarket today, did the present change? Thea wonders if it will be favorable or unfavorable for the future she wanted.
Erick inquired about further beef products on the opposite side of the store but was dismayed to learn that restocking would take place the following morning.
Thea was still glancing his way when Erick turned to face her. Erick thought she was looking at him because she was mad at him. After all, he recklessly snatched her goods.
Erick was a little concerned for the woman in front of him who, as he mistakenly believed, became tearful over some groceries item. "Miss, sorry but it looks this is the only one remaining... here you can have it. You don't need to shed tears over this sort of stuff.
Thea was startled out of her haze by Erick's words and took a big breath to regain her composure. She then wiped some tears from the corner of her eyes. She cautiously smiled at him as if nothing upset her and grabbed the item from his hands since she didn't want to seem suspicious in front of Erick or the fact that she knew him.
Thea softly asked, trying to approach a casual conversation while concealing her shaking voice behind her endearing expression, "Thank you, but what will you make now?
Erick nervously scratches the back of his head and says, "I can manage... you don't have to worry about that... It appears like you're extremely desperate for the item. Are you preparing for someone special?"
"Oh yes, my grandfather invited a special visitor tomorrow and I will be the one preparing," Thea says, her face beginning to brighten up.
Because you even go grocery shopping by yourself, I'm sure that person would be delighted to try your food, Erick retorted.
She answered with a sweet, sympathetic voice, "I hope so.
Erick found it amusing that the woman in front of him seemed out of the ordinary; her aura and appearance suggested that she had been raised in high society. Her beauty would still be evident even if she were merely donning a pair of casual pants and a white top. especially her long silky hair that reaches her tiny waist and gorgeous amber eyes. He gulped as he realized it was impolite to look at a woman, especially because he will see his fiancée tomorrow.
Erick averted his gaze from Thea as he scolded himself and instead concentrated on other things in order to escape his shameful thoughts. He follows Thea as she pushes her cart and asks, "So what are you cooking?"
As he waits for her to respond, Erick grinned at the woman. She made him feel comfortable, and he just wanted to talk to her more—he didn't know why. He feels at ease around her in some way. He simply thinks the woman is lovely and beautiful.
With her composed appearance and calm temperament, Thea may appear to be conversing normally with Erick from the outside, but on the inside, Thea's heart is thumping so loudly that she can hear her heartbeat coming from her chest whenever she hears Erick's deep, manly voice.
When they approached the counter, she kept sneaking peeks at Erick's face and blurted out, "I will cook stir-fried beef broccoli." Thea recalls their first night together as she marvels at how attractive Erick is. Even if their first night together was a mistake, Thea will always remember how much she enjoyed their extreme heat together, especially when she saw his muscular body, gigantic muscles, and enormous member hidden beneath his pants. Her thoughts instantly caused Thea to blush.
"I take it by your smile that the dinner you are preparing is for someone special?"
Thea swallowed and nodded right away, turning her shameless gaze away from Erick's lower body. Thankfully, the man misses Thea's sly thoughts since he thinks her smile is a response to his queries.
What a surprise! It's one of my favorite meals, and I was planning to make it today, but there's just one left, I'm afraid.
Thea knew this was Erick's favorite dish, and when she was working with the elderly Chinese couple, she made a promise to learn how to make it and serve it for him one day. "Wow! What a coincidence," she said, seeming to be surprised while grinning widely. Thea was unaware that her earlier pledge would be fulfilled as a result of her regression.
Erick remarked, "Yeah, it's a lovely coincidence. Maybe I'll cook it another time.
"Don't worry, Sir, I'm sure you can still taste your favorite stir-fried beef and broccoli one of these days."
As she gazed at Thea's thin face, Erick nodded. Erick is unable to comprehend himself because he appears to be speaking a lot today and appears at ease around the woman he recently met in the store. Yet for some reason, when the woman mentioned that she was cooking for a particular someone, he felt uneasy, which made him curious.
Is the person you mentioned earlier—the special someone—your boyfriend?
Thea halted her step to look at Erick's face; although he appeared embarrassed by what he said, Thea could see his curious eyes.
Erick swallowed to moisten his throat before he spoke, "Of course... that's too personal... you don't need to answer," as soon as he noticed Thea looking at him.
Thea sensed that Erick was making advances to her, which made her realize that he had previously been married to someone else after they had divorced in a previous life. Does Erick's personality change throughout time? Thea blinked off her wandering. because she finds it amusing that her fiancé Erick is chatting up his own fiancée in the grocery store. Despite Thea's knowledge, Erick is unaware that she is his fiancée. Thea was taken aback to see this new side of Erick.
Thea decides to comply with Erick's request by saying, "He is not my boyfriend but a fiancee, and I want him to taste the very first dish that I cook," emphasizing the word fiancee to him.
Her stern tone caught Erick off guard. What a lucky man, that's wonderful to hear.
Thea shook her head and murmured, "No, I'm lucky to have him," in a sincere and endearing manner. She did follow through on what she said. Thea was fortunate to have Erick in her life.
Erick responded, "That's excellent, I hope you both have a great life."
Erick, may your wish come true. She pondered.
As Erick heard what she was saying, he felt a little uneasy. How he wants his fiancée could prepare meals for him as well. Erick was accustomed to witnessing his mother carefully prepare meals for his father. He grew up witnessing his parents' intense love for one another and has always appreciated their bond.
Both of them had finished shopping and were now in the parking lot. Erick assists Thea toward the car while assisting her with her grocery bag. Thank goodness Thea just packed a basic sedan as she prefers to travel incognito and avoid drawing too much attention.
Thea shook his hand and said, "Thank you, Sir." She wished to make an excellent first impression on Erick.
Erick scratches the back of his head, "Drive carefully, Miss." He debated whether or not to inquire about the woman's name. But in the end, he made the decision to ask the woman and go with his intuition.
Erick inquired, "Miss, may I know your name?" The woman in front of him piqued his interest. He wasn't sure why he made her feel comfortable. Perhaps the woman in front of him still accepted to be friends despite Erick's knowledge that she has a fiancé. Right?! He considered.
Thea, however, interpreted it differently than she had anticipated. Erick is obviously flirting, and I need to step up my game if I want to keep him. Erick found his new wife, particularly in the future. Because I'm a self-centered woman, I won't permit her to have Erick in this life. We will never get a divorce, I'm sorry.
Thea raised an eyebrow in irritation when she saw Erick flirting with another woman in the grocery store; fortunately, it was with her. Unbeknownst to Thea, Erick is also having a difficult time understanding himself as he converses for a considerable amount of time with a woman he just met.
"I'm sorry sir, but I can't give you my name because I respect my fiancee so much and I believe it's inappropriate to give my name to a man I just met right... but anyhow, if we saw each other again maybe, I'll give it to you... thank you for your help," Thea said while concealing a sly smile, leaving Erick with a dumbfounded expression as she got into her car and drove away.
Thea eventually laughed after suppressing it in front of Erick. The vehicle resounded with her laughing. Thea was amused to see her ex-husband flirting, and she couldn't get over how adorable Erick's astonished expression is when she declined to offer her name.
Thea laughed. She clutches the steering wheel firmly and says, "In this lifetime, let's get to know each other better. I also guarantee that I won't let any other woman flirt with you; just wait, Erick."
