Now Su Qing was stumped!
After several attempts to persuade him to let go went in vain, Su Qing had no choice but to prise her baby's fingers apart little by little. Though the second Joy's pant leg slipped from his fingertips, he pouted and burst out crying.
Everyone in the room was startled by the baby's sudden outburst of miserable cries. Su Qing coaxed and kissed the baby in her arms, hoping that he could stop crying, but it was not very effective. The baby was not going to cut her some slack as he continued to cry loudly.
His crying was giving Su Qing a headache. She had no experience in coaxing children. She was at a loss as to what to do when she saw a figure stumbling over.
It would be a lie to say that Joy was not startled when he was pestered by a baby all of a sudden, especially when Su Qing had to pull the baby off of him after failing to persuade him to let go, Joy's whole body had stiffened.
