Lu Huaiyu's voice was very gentle, deep, and relaxed as if he was merely saying this casually, but Ning Li instantly blushed.
That woman had only said that to coax the child. How could Lu Huaiyu repeat it?
Ning Li quickly stood up.
"Second Brother, I should probably head back."
Lu Huaiyu also stood up.
"I'll see you off."
Ning Li paused.
She was the one who had called him over, so this did not seem appropriate...
"It's better if I walk you downstairs."
Lu Huaiyu glanced at her and smiled as he responded, "Alright then."
The two of them went downstairs.
Ning Li avoided looking at him the whole time, and there was a half-step distance between them.
