Chapter 5 - LGfM 5 Cafe

...

It had been two days since Petra entered school, as well as her job at the Kohiti Café as a waitress, draining more energy than Petra had previously imagined.

Especially at school, where the recruitment session for prospective members of the intra-school organization management, Petra did not expect that it would be that fast for the selection of prospective members. Moreover, they even took prospective members from new children like him. As scholarship recipients from the SMA Metropol Foundation, Petra and other students must actively participate in all school activities, without exception. One of the conditions for scholarships provided by the foundation to scholarship recipients, for Petra, this is unusual. One of the strange requirements according to the seventeen-year-old girl.

"Mr. Manager, can I ask for a more flexible work time dispensation?" Petra asked the Kohiti Café manager as soon as he changed his work uniform.

"Why?" asked the manager without preamble. He had expected this beforehand, that accepting scholarship recipients like Petra would certainly be troublesome even if Petra was a diligent and responsive child at work. Because that is what makes the manager even dizzier if only the word dilemma is too sad for him to use in a situation like the one he is currently facing.

"In this week there are many activities in our intra-school secretariat, sir. And, I was nominated as a public relations section, one of the positions in its management." Petra replied in a sad tone that he could not cover-up. It was hard for Petra to ask permission from the kind-hearted manager, but Petra himself was confused about his busy school agenda.

"Okay." replied the manager briefly. Leaving Petra with a beaming face because the permission he asked for was granted.

For Petra, working at the Kohiti Café is great fun. Petra can serve a wide variety of people with a variety of different characters. Petra likes to interact with other people, the social spirit in him is quite high. That is what makes it easy for Petra to adjust and also choose himself as a candidate for the public relations section of the Metropol High School intra-school organization.

"Waiter… where is my order?" asked a young boy with ice-cold eyes speaking to Petra. Shattering the girl's reverie.

"Order?" cried Petra, confused to himself. As far as Petra remembered, he had never seen the cold-eyed young man order anything since five minutes ago he came and sat at the corner cafe table.

"Yes. I ordered Long Black Coffee and a tuna sandwich. Do I have to repeat up to five times?" growled the cold-eyed young man. The young man's lips were shaking with anger.

"Fine, fine, I'll bring it right away," Petra said immediately leaving the young man's table.

Petra was very sure that if he had not served the cold-eyed young man who could freeze anything in three seconds, maybe one of his friends who had served but had not yet brought the boy's order. Without thinking anything nonsense, Petra headed for the kitchen, asking the barista and chef to immediately make the young man's order, before the whole café turned into an ice castle.

"I'm sorry Petra, actually I was the one who served the young man from the pole. However, I was too afraid to go back to his desk to bring this order he ordered." screeched Debbi, Petra's colleague who was one year older than him, handing over the tray of Long Black Coffee and the sandwiches that the cold-eyed young man had ordered.

"Oh, Debbi, you should have said earlier," said Petra and without wasting any time he quickly walked toward the corner of the café, where the cold-eyed young man sat alone.

However, when Petra came to bring the order, it seemed that three other friends already filled all the seats in front and beside the seat of the cold-eyed young man.

"Please sir, enjoy," said Petra as friendly as possible to the young man who did not even look at him. As if Petra was just an insignificant figure from all parts of the cafe.

"Hey Lyon, why are you only ordering for yourself? Where are our drinks and snacks?" exclaimed the young man who sat next to Lyon, the young man with cold eyes.

"Order yourself," Lyon replied briefly, he was busy typing something on his cellphone.

"Hmmm, always like that ..." said another young man who sat across the Lyon table.

"So, gentlemen, what order?" asked Petra trying to get rid of the tense atmosphere Lyon created with his friends. Putting on a smile as friendly as possible with great force.

If Petra could choose, of course, he would be happy to drown the four manless youths in front of him into the deepest ocean in the Pacific.

"Three espressos, one spaghetti, one cheese pizza, and two beefsteaks." said the young man who sat beside Lyon. After that speaking, the young man smiled sweetly at Petra.

"Fine. I'll prepare it immediately," said Petra then left the table, shaking his head to himself.

Honestly, Petra was very surprised by the figure of this cold-eyed young man named Lyon. It seemed, Petra had seen him somewhere, especially the cold eyes that depicted his indifference to his surroundings and focused more on his world. Apart from the fact that the school uniform that Lyon is wearing is the same as the Petra school uniform, Metropol High School, he doesn't have any clue about Lyon the ice boy.

After fifteen minutes Petra brought all the orders from the table in the corner of the café, apart from Debbi no one dared to serve the four young men who filled the corner of the café. To Petra, this seemed absurd. Petra couldn't stop thinking about her friends.

"Doesn't he still eat rice, bread, pasta, or the like, right?" Petra grumbled to Debbi who was silent when asked what reason he and the other friends did not want to serve the table.

"Of course Petra, he's still human and not an alien. Only our castes are different," whispered Debbi, shuddering to herself. Debbi seemed to be hiding a certain fact which Petra became very curious about.

"If it's like that why is he a different caste from us, want to come to this café?" replied Petra in a whisper too, before he left Debbi and walked towards Lyon's table, which when Petra arrived was still busy with his cellphone. While other friends are also busy with their respective gadgets.

"Please enjoy," said Petra shortly after serving all the orders on the table. Only glances from the four young men in response to Petra's words.

As a waiter, Petra was self-conscious not to complain or gossip to customers even if their behavior made the blood boil like the four young men. It's true Debbi said, there is a caste distance between them even though Petra knows that they are in the same school with him.
