Chereads / Edward In Love / Chapter 4 - 4) Honor

Chapter 4 - 4) Honor

Vasili

"You did what!" My brother yelled as I threw my body on the couch.

"Look I did not mean to. He was just asking so many questions I snapped okay. I tried to apologize but he ignored me for the rest of the night," I argued sitting up right knowing how much he hated it when I was ill mannered.

"You must be crazy. You are aware of Edwards's reputation, no? He could pull out of the agreement whenever he wants. If we have peace with him we have peace with his allies!" he yelled banging his fist on his office table.

"I will apologize first thing in the morning okay," I sighed knowing how Yavok got when he was angry. There was no point in arguing back since you simply could not win.

"I want you to go to his hotel right this instant. Give him a bottle of wine as an apology. I will not have you wasting work time for your mistakes," he snapped. He walked out the room and came back a few minutes later holding a very expensive bottle of red wine he probably had in his large cellar. He gave it to me and I simply sighed. Without another word I left his house and hopped into my Porsche.

I felt like an utter idiot for losing my temper at Edward but he was becoming too invasive for my liking. There was something about him I was not too particularly fond of and it upset me. Just from the first glance of his face I felt unsettled. My mother always said never trust good looking people since they could easily influence you. It was crazy since we were all good looking in the family but I had to admit I did take it into advantage when I wanted something.

For what felt like ten minutes I just sat in my car outside the hotel Edward was in. This was stupid, he was a thirty five year old man, and he probably dealt with things like this all the time. Back at the theatre he did not even look bothered except for the fact he blatantly ignored my presence throughout dinner. Okay, maybe it did sting a little but whatever he could buy himself an island to feel better.

I banged my head against the steering wheel than grabbed the bottle and headed out. I knew the hotel like the back of my hand since it belonged to our family so that was a bonus if you could say. Within minutes I was outside his door. Suddenly my hands felt very clammy as I gripped the bottle contemplating if I should knock or not. My gut told me I should have since Yavok would kill me if I had no evidence of actually apologizing.

I knocked on the door and awaited my doom. After a few seconds the door swung open to reveal Edward. He looked like he had just stepped out of the shower since his hair was wet and the fact he was only wearing sweatpants with no shirt. Sure I had my tattoos and frightening heritage but Edward still made me feel nervous.

He easily towered over me even though it was just a few centimetres and he had a longer time to develop his muscles. I was lean due to my ballet history so bulking was never an option. I had to be light of my feet.

"Are you just going to stand there all night and stare or are you going to say something?" his deep voice snapped me out of my thoughts as he leaned against the door frame. I opened my mouth to respond but my voice was caught in my throat. "For someone who was cussing me out a few hours ago you are awfully quiet," he chuckled crossing his arms over his chest. Arrogant bastard.

"I was here to apologize but since you are a dick here is wine as an apology," I shoved it onto his chest as he quirked an eyebrow at me.

"You have issues. Want to share a glass?" he chuckled holding the bottle. I was shocked at his calmness and debated it. I detested him but Yavok would be overfilled with joy if I did this. I simply nodded and he moved out of the way to let me in. I walked over to the living room and threw myself onto the couch. It was a bad habit. Edward went to the kitchen and soon came back holding two wine glasses that were filled halfway.

He handed me one then sat down on a smaller couch next to mine. We did not say anything for the first few seconds till I decided to break it. It was killing me.

"Look I am really sorry for bursting at you back at the theatre. Ballet is just something very sensitive to me that I don't really like being questioned about," I sighed. Normally I was a bit of a jerk but most times it was justified. Edward was just trying to break the ice between us and I was uncalled for. He did not respond and simply stared at me. His hazel blue eyes were intimidating, well as intimidating as a man with freckles could be. I shifted in my seat a bit feeling uncomfortable at his furrowed eyebrows.

He sighed, "It's fine," he shrugged and sipped his wine. He was way too calm and collected for my liking and it was nerve wrecking. "Yavok made you come here, didn't he?" I nearly choked on my wine.

"Maybe," I coughed trying to recover.

"Mmm well I guess it's fine. If he lost the contract because of this he would have killed you," he laughed.

"Cascade me would be better so I could suffer for the rest of my life. Apparently to him I have been a little bitch ever since my accident," I rolled my eyes smirking. It was a tad bit true. I just snapped easier and I had a temper. I knew it was not anyone's fault but my own, but I could not help but get annoyed. Imagine the one thing that meant so much to you being ripped away from you with no warning. That was fucked up.

"I guess we are going through the same. My family thinks I'm withdrawn these days but what can I do?" he pursued his lips together in a thoughtful manner. I could imagine how he felt. Sure my situation was bad but only the ballet world was affected and it died down pretty quickly. Edward was in the media all the time and it was public knowledge his girlfriend had left him. I could not handle knowing everyone knew my business. He probably needed to grieve over it but simply could not since everyone talked about it.

"Well fuck it. Everyone needs to have a stage of rebellion in their life," I laughed pouring myself another glass of wine.

"Easy for you to say. Your life is just beginning I'm close to being a middle aged man," he literally shivered at the thought.

"You almost look the same age as me," I chuckled. It was true though, Edward still had lots of youth in his face and the fact he took care of himself helped a lot. If it was not for the suit and his status in society I would have taken him as someone fresh out of university.

"You boost my ego. I think I like you Vasili," he laughed. His laugh was deep and from the chest yet strange at the same time. It was pleasant to listen too.

Wait what?

I was becoming soft. I shook my head to take the thoughts away. He and I finished the bottle within a few hours and we were both definitely buzzed. Mysteriously during the night we both decided it would be a good idea to lay on the floor and stare up to the ceiling.

"Look at the stars," Edward laughed pointing to one of the downlights.

"That's a light," I chuckled.

"Don't stars produce light. Therefore it is a star," he scoffed. To him I must have seemed like a complete idiot.

"That's some deep philosophical shit," I nodded in agreement. He simply turned his head to look at me and smiled. We lay there in silence for a few minutes till a startling noise erupted the silence. There he lay his eyes closed and softly snoring. Here I was thinking we were enjoying each others company when in reality he was knocked out.

I could not help but laugh at Edwards face as he slept. His lips were pushed forward in a small pout and the rest of his face looked calm. I thought he looked younger before but now he really did look young. "Edward wake up," I nudged his side in hopes he would wake up from his nap.

"Oh my pony," he sighed having a small smile on his face. He spoke in his sleep to, how great. I looked at the time and noticed it was 11p.m I needed to get home before it got too late. That was when I decided I could just pick him up, I use to pick up women all the time when I danced, sure they were super light and Edward was triple their size but I could manage.

I cautiously tried to pick up his body and after a few struggles here and there since his body was practically spaghetti, I managed to pick him up bridal style. He looked heavy with his toned muscular body but he was not as heavy as I expected. His head lolled back and his arms dangled on his size as I walked into his bedroom. The man slept like the dead; I accidentally slipped when I was putting him on his bed. He landed with a thump but did not wake up. Like I said 'the dead'.

I threw the covers over him and sighed once I knew he was okay. For someone who was going to be my boss for the next two years he reminded me of a child. "Night Ed," I said before walking away from his sleeping figure.

As I walked out the bedroom door I heard a faint, "Night Vas," I looked back and even though he looked tired as hell he propped himself onto his elbow and gave me a faint smile before collapsing back onto the bed. I smiled at him and wondered 'who got drunk of wine?' Vodka was where the good stuff was at.

By the time I got home it was midnight and I was exhausted. I had a nice house in the richer suburbs of Moscow, I was not a big fan of anything fancy so I did not go crazy like my brother. My house was modern and fairly large. It was a five bedroom home with a few extra perks. Yavok had nine bedrooms but with as many kids as he had I could understand why.

I poured myself a glass of water and took a painkiller since I was having a mild headache. I could be a bitch when I was not feeling well. My body was leaned against the large island when I heard footsteps.

"Vasili is that you?" a soft voice called out. My girlfriend of two years came walking in wearing her favourite black silk nightdress. It was a tiny little dress with lots of lace and she looked damn sexy wearing it.

"Hi Mary," I smiled at her beautiful form. She was full Russian blood like me, she had strawberry blonde hair that was curly and reached her waist. Her skin was pale but her cheeks always seemed to have a tint of pink which made her look youthful and young. She had big blue doe eyes that always seemed to melt my heart. I was a bad ass but when it came to her I treated her like a fragile sculpture.

"Where have you been?" she mumbled into my chest as I hugged her tightly.

"I had to go apologize to one of Yavoks new business partners since I was an ass," I chuckled as she rolled her eyes. She was pretty use to my antics and this was not the first time I was considered to be a jerk.

"You need to control yourself more before you give him a heart attack," she giggled as we got into our bedroom.

"I'll try," I shrugged than took a shower. When I finally got into bed Mary was fast asleep. I cradled her closer to me and kissed her forehead. She was my world and I planned on letting her know how much she meant to me soon.
