Chapter 6 - Du

On that side, as usual, Du-Gooder is clueless. While, on the far side of the world where the sun was at its hottest a man held the phone in his hand, adding pressure slowly to the point the screen showed the spider veins. Behind him, another man prowled like a caged beast his tall frame unusually taller than an average man.

The former is named Vin Gui, and the latter is Vin Guang.

It has been such a long time, and he had heard no update from this family. His woman, she—

"I am not a happy man." Gui said. On the other end, the woman who shockingly resembled Du-Gooder Xia clenched her fist and bit her lower lip. She, as a mother who had this one daughter felt that the main family were too ruthless. Her daughter only needed time to come to terms with the fact she will be married soon. She could explore the world at that time, but instead they forced her out.

Her daughter she did not know where she was now.

Tremblingly she spoke, "Young master, my daughter, she..."

"Even if you have cut her off, she is my fiancé, regardless. The woman I had a contractual marriage with! There was no rush, yet you allowed her to escape, forcing her to survive on her Own. My woman is forced to live like a pauper! Where is she?!" Du-Gooder Xia trembled; she could not understand why she felt fear from this young master. Silence filled the call, Du-Gooder Xia dare not reply least the young master Vin become even more incest with anger. The young man on the other end spoke up once more after a while. "On her twenty-fifth birthday—"

He cut himself off suddenly, deciding to swallow those words. There is no need for him to continue speaking to these people. A father- and mother-in-law previously had his respect, but three years later, it is all finished. He can not—

Du-Gooder Xia wanted to explain, but the phone went silent.

Sitting back, she closed her eyes, the same dark green hair, golden skin, and shapely form. The two could pass for sisters. Standing, Du-Gooder Xia walked from the room to the adjoining one where the wonderful Aroma of flowers filled her nose. Her daughter had helped her with these but now only she tended them alone.

Losing a child hurt.

"Aunt. I can fill in for her." A soft voice announced. Du Mayla born as the third daughter of the second son. Her husband is the eldest, simply known as a Du, while her family name before marriage was Gooder. Being recognised her daughter had adopted her name, which was also from a powerful family.

"The agreement is between the Du and Gooder clan with the Vin clan. You are a Du." she said, standing tall. Unlike the girl before her, she is not slim but voluptuous. Her features are seductive, her voice similar to a wet dream. Her daughter is no different. A man having a woman like her to someone like that... There is no competition. Unless the man has his own taste. "Then aunt- "

"I will condone no one attempting to replace my daughter."

Du-Gooder Xia's eyes flashed, falling on the young woman. This is what she hated. Someone willing to become a replacement for fame. The Vin clan had a strapping family head. Thirty years only with a background that made him the most eligible in the A-country.

Her daughter had been happy with the arrangement, but suddenly she wanted to flee. There is only one answer. Du-Gooder Xia looked at the young woman, trying her hardest to hide her disgust.

Big families are OK, after all, humans are inherently social creatures, but what she could not accept is someone like her who would snatch another's man and form a rift between her mother and child. Is it because she had only this one daughter?

"Aunt, it is not- "

"Little girl, you and your mother have started something that can only end with one side suffering."

Yes, humans are social creatures, but so is the feline race.

Du Mayla stood alone in the room. Her face twisted into a vicious sneer. Her older cousin is unworthy of the Vin heir. So gullible and stupid she would only shame their family.

What man would take a vixen as a wife?

She refuses to allow her to claim a man that is beyond her so; she spoke to her, one word here, one word there. Showing the fool that if she married the Vin heir, she will suffer for being so different. A wife should know the virtues, her body alone is a sin. Du Mayla laughed, thinking about how easily she believed her. Du-Gooder Xiala loved freedom even though she had been groomed to become the Du heir. A woman leading the prestigious Du clan?

It is insulting!

Her brother should be the one to lead after the present heir steps down. Not that foolish woman!

From another entrance, a young man appeared. He wore a simple button-up shirt, sleeveless V-neck vest, and slacks. His thick dark hair was combed away from his forehead with a few strands gracing it. The leaf shaped eyes, straight nose and thin lips compiled together showed a man in his late twenties with handsome features. "Sister, you should be calmer. What if another enters and sees that your mask has fallen?" His words sounded playful, but only he could feel the anger for this stupid sister. First, she had chased the daughter from the first family out with a few words and deeds, even speaking to the elders in her pitiful tone. Then she had dared to directly speak to the present, madam. The Du family are among the top families on the island and the entire surrounding Indies, but that did not mean they were untouchable.

For him, interests should not be touched. To choose between becoming the next family head and having a long life, of course he would choose his own life!

Clueless of her brother's thoughts, Du Mayla turned to her brother, crying softly. "Big brother. She denied me. That bitch tore my face!"

Du Michel wanted to slap her silly. A sister like this might spell his death! He was so incest with anger that the vein on his forehead pulsed but he is the indulgent brother now, he must continue to show this facade. "Mm. You believe the Du-Gooder matriarch would be soft?" He said instead, face showing indulgence.

"Big brother...?"

"I have found her; she will be out of our lives for good."

Du Mayla's eyes widened before crinkling into twin crescent moons pity the two will only have this last laugh.
