Filled with the scent of herbs, it hung thick in the air of the confines of the room. Obstructing the light from the sole window, Aribelle listened to the young girl's raspy breaths anxiously in the dim light. Watching Mia's little chest rise and fall unevenly, she shifted her weight restlessly where she sat.
Aribelle hearing a faint cough from elsewhere in the room, she rose wearily. Adjusting the girl's pillow, so that it better supported her head. She then turned to attend to the other patients also infirmed there. Making her way quietly along the row of cots, Aribelle peered at their occupants. Vigilantly taking note of their varying conditions, she stopped intermittently to tend to those who seemed to need more medicine or aid.
