Her mind at ease with Cassius guarding the clinic, it had not taken much time for Aribelle to be surrender to the enticing promise of sleep. Relaxed by his familiar scent as it enveloped her. Its aroma overpowering the herbs in the room, the smell reminded Aribelle vaguely of sandalwood and burning coals. Allow it to carry her away somewhere far removed from the makeshift clinic. This only seemed to last for a brief moment, before she was again forced back into the dismal light of reality.
Abruptly awoken by the offensive grating of the door's hinges as it was pried open. Aribelle flinched, becoming aware of her surroundings once more. Blinking the sleep and droplets of mist away from her eyes, she began to tiredly peel herself from Cassius's lap. Aribelle's hand gripping his knee gently, she used it to steady herself from falling from the minimal space on the cot.
