Chapter 4 - CHAPTER FOUR :Sunny

Hazel walked inside her room with a haste dropping the lab result which she has been holding on top of her bed. She sat down, staring aimlessly while trying to take in the granny's words, Hazel went for her diary noting down her encounter with the woman today.

"You need to relax, take a deep breathe" Hazel tried calming herself because what she just went through few minutes ago, was something beyond human explaination.

"I mean, I just met a fairy godmother,I just met a fucking fairy!" Hazel exclaimed, ruffling her hair as she was in disbelief. She was not a big fan of fairytales and merely had time to watch movies, so it still felt like a dream to her to actually witness fiction which was being featured in tv everyday happen in reality and more so to her of all people.

Hazel took her phone setting the calender for her life span, three hundred and sixty-five days to find true love. She held her diary, looking at where she wrote down her bucket list (wish list).  This was all she wanted to do with the  time left and while reading, it took her everything not to cry.  However, she could not, life has being very difficult, unfair and cruel to her.

Working in the factory never gave her the liberty to enjoy and see the beauty of life, she struggled day and night to meet up with expenses but there wasn't any good paying job that you could get around the arena with just a high school diploma.

Hazel struggled to make her life better as she was the only one who could do that for herself. Taking the job of a waitress in a nearby restaurant not too far from where she lived in the morning, then going to the factory in the afternoon, which was one of the most tiring and difficult work she could get to make end meet.

Hazel could have know that the constant headache, dizziness, loss of appetite was something serious, but she took it that it was just stress from work.

"This is a new start Hazel, you can do this, " she tried coaching herself as she took the scan results hiding it where her friends wouldn't be able to find it.

Not  that she had much friends anyway.  Sunny was the only one close to her and speak of the devil. Here was her roommate and bestie.

"Babe, you called me ,what's the matter?" Sunny came out of the bathroom and hazel turned the other way to hide her face that was puffy from crying.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Sunny asked in a concerned tone only to get a hug from hazel.

"I'm okay, sunny," Hazel smiled breaking the hug to look at sunny but she knew her friend was not the one to be deceived that easily.

"Are you sure? Your expression and action says otherwise and the way you sounded on phone…"

"I said I'm okay, seriously I'm good"

"Hazel?" Sunny called,  staring at her In a not so convinced tone. She touched hazel's forehead to observe if she was having fever as usual, "Yes, if I can still remember, you said you were going for a check up today, so how was it ,what did the doctor say?

"Well…"Hazel stood up, hands on her waist with a nervous smile,"Its just as I thought, a few migraine here and there, stress and vitamin deficiency. I'm good, honestly." She lied through her teeth.

"Thats good then. I thought it had been something serious but ThankGod, I don't need my best friend dying on me soon,"sunny said with a glee, pinching her cheeks while Hazel smiled back at her.

"You are back early? "Hazel finally noticed.  Although she intentinally asked  that  to divert Sunny from asking more questions.

"Oh yeah and guess what? "

"What is it?you know I am  not so good at guessing"

"WE ARE CLUBBING!!! "

"Oh, not again, "Hazel groaned,  falling back cm on her bed.  What was she expecting from an extrovert and party mogul like sunny.

"No no no young lady! You do not get to say no to me this time around!  I was lenient towards  you the last time because you were exhausted, but today I'm not taking any excuses, so get that cute ass off that bed instantly! "sunny commanded in a serious tone dragging  the reluctant Hazel up from the bed.

"I am not interested, I will just stay at home reading my favorite novel,"

"Seriously hazel you need to grow up, I'm educating you to be shrewd not clumsy, have some fun with your life, get a nice guy to hang out with, go on dates and finally pop that cherry of yours, you get the point?" Sunny said brazenly while raising her eyebrows to ridicule  hazel who was still treasuring her V-card.

"Sweetheart,  I would have loved going, but I think I'm getting a slight headache," Hazel lied pretending to be sick

"Nice try but that's not going to work tonight, now up you go or no watching of your favorite show for a week"

"Ah!You wouldn't dare"

"Yes I will" sunny said daring her

"Okay, fine, but no drinking of alcohol"

"I promise no such thing Hazel, we are going to have fun baby girl so loosen up, let's go get dressed up already"

"Seriously sunny," Hazel called tiredly as she was been dragged to the large closet.

Meeting sunny has being more of a blessing to her. Being raised in the orphanage was a survival of the fittest. She had no friends there because the others strived for food and resources as well. Having friends meant you share, none was willing to do that.

"Yo, found it" Sunny said breaking Hazel out of her thoughts and she looked at the clothe only for her eyes to widen.

"Gosh, no,  Sunny! This is too short and revealing for my liking, I'm not wearing this tonight. "

"We are doing this my way tonight, remember our mission is to get you laid,"

"I did not said I was going to  get laid tonight"

"While the getting laid part is debatable, off to the bathroom young lady, "

"How did you even get to be my best friend?"

"I love you too babe," Sunny shouted all the way from her closet

"Whatever, " Hazel whispered, then looked at the mirror,  "Okay, clubbing here I come. "
