They all sat in there, not knowing what to do. Their lives had been uprooted. Their hiding spot has been exposed. an enraged alpha king will come their way one day or another. It was no longer safe in this small island.
"We can move to the nearby town. I heard part of it is haunted. We can maybe hide there.... what do you guys suggest..." Raven hopefully looked at them.
"There is no natural barrier like the whirlpools. It's not safe." Matt replied massaging his forehead.
Nico blankly stared at the ground.
"Come on guys, don't look so down. We are here. we are alive. We have survived and we will survive what is going to happen next. All we have to do is be prepared. I'll set up traps for crocks all around. We'll harvest the blood and set off in search of our new home. It might not be as perfect as ours, but.... it can be hidden and safe," Raven stood up and gestured for Darius to follow him.
The young blond teenager stood up. he hesitantly stood by the door. "Um.. I don't think the wolves are so bad... they did not hurt us. Do we have to leave?"
"That was before. Now Nico has clearly enraged the alpha king,' Matt threw an accusatory gaze at him.
Nico silently moved to the corner.
"Come on Matt don't bully him. Darius stay here. Matt come with me." Raven gestured for him angrily.
As soon as they opened the door, gale gushed into the house. There was a huge rainstorm outside.
"Great now we have to get wet....." Groaning Matt left the hut along with him.
Nicolai silently peered at the open door. The little splatters of water calmed him down bit by bit.
"Elder. I'm serious though.. I don't think they are that bad..." Darius scooted close. "What is your thought about your mate... just don't think of him as a werewolf. What are your thoughts about him as a person?"
"A wimpy child and a stupid wolf," he mumbled, scratching the spot on his neck. The mark was starting to heat up painfully. He kept scratching it subtly without anyone noticing it.
'Sun and moon..' Dylan had mentioned that. He had never seen his mark on his own.
Taking the small knife from the side he glanced at his reflection on the shiny blade. A small mark was seen. It was shaped like the sun and the moon.
'The sun gods and the moon goddess... is this a sign...'
Nicolai tossed the blade to the side.
'No this can't be a sign. I can't change my mind now... I won't let him destroy my kind again....' he shook off the thought of his beloved.
"Elder think about it. Is he really that bad?" Darius whispered.
"He is the literal king of the world, yet.. yet he treated our kind so badly,"
"Werewolf and vampires are enemies,"' Issac softly mumbled.
"Yes, they are. It was because vampires had been governing over them for a long time. You guys might not know this but a few thousand years ago something happened to the werewolf population. They suddenly started to berserk and started to appear in front of the humans. So many stories about them started to spread. It threatened both our kind's safety. That's why the vampires took control of them. at least that's what I was told,"
Avery softly sighed. "I've seen it... vampires were cruel to werewolves..."
Nicolai glanced at him. Unlike his voyager powers, Avery's powers can help him get a glimpse of the past witch's life. It was highly likely that what he was saying is the truth.
He wanted to accept the fact..
'But we didn't hurt them that badly. We didn't kill all of them. We didn't go genocide...' he defended their kind softly in his mind.
"I accept that. But we did not kill them all, did we? Vampires ruled over them for thousand years, but the werewolves did not go into extinction."
Avery moved a bit closer and held his hand. "instead our kind chose to enslave them... it's that bad,"
Nicolai groaned. "'I don't know what's; right and what's wrong anymore..."
"Elder.. Nico.... I might be young but I understand stuff... I know that you really like your beloved.."
Nico started to tear up. he fidgeted with his thumb until it bled. "I like him a lot.. you know I was the first person he saw in this world. The last I saw him, He was in his swaddle cloth.. such a cute kid... why did he grow up to be so dumb and cruel."
Avery gently hugged him. "so how does he make you feel?"
How did he make him feel? That question was something he did not even have to think about. He already knew the answer to this.
Dylan made him feel alive. He made him feel like he was not alone anymore. That moment he saw his eyes, everything stopped. He.. he became his world.
But in ten minutes his entire world shattered again.
He took a deep breath. "it... it was a good decision. It was for the good of all you guys,"
"It's not.." hunter mumbled. "' elder isn't it better that you seduce your alpha.."
"Huh?" Nicolai was flabbergasted. He did not expect a small thirteen-year-old vampire to even suggest that.
"Seduce him. He clearly likes you. If you seduce him, we all will have a lot of benefits.."
Nicolai thought about it. Just after meeting him for ten minutes, Dylan was completely in his hands. he listen to everything he asked. He even released all his brothers from his hostage situation, and prepared a boat...
'if.. if I can pull it off then I can maybe restore the position of vampires in this world... if I have Dylan in my palm I can make the rules right...'
'Why didn't I think of that...'
Betrayal was the only thought that was running through his head when he got to know Dylan was the alpha king.
In fact, he could have used it to his advantage.
He could have 'used' him.
He had been taught from a young age that he should never 'use' people for their advantage. His father had strictly told him that it would backfire one day.
'But what can I do at this point? Our island has been exposed. Even if the alpha king doesn't bother coming here again, the other wolf hunters might come here to hunt as down.'
The natural-born vampire population was in decline not only because of public executions but also because of illegal black market sales. Hunters would capture vampires and they would sell them to the highest bidders in the illegal market.
It was a worse fate than being burned alive.
Nicolai gulped silently. 'If seducing the alpha king just to protect my brothers, I will gladly do it.'
he was ready to bite the bullet and act lovey dovey with him.
A bt of pillow talk and we can have freedom.
'but can I even act lovey dovey with him... I loathe him now... what if not act is not that convincing. What if the alpha king loses his shit and hurts my brothers. What if the other pack members hurt us just because we are vampires?...'
'Dylan won't hurt us and will not allow anyone else to do so as well, right?...'
Now after knowing Dylan's real identity, every time he thought of that striking blue eyes he could only think of all the cruel things he had done.
Dylan might not have taken part in all the vampire killing, but he chose to stay ignorant to all that cruelty. That was a mistake. It was a mistake he could not redeem himself.
Nicolai was not ready to forgive him for this mistake.
'yes this way I will never fall for him....this could work.. this really could work...'
The door to the hit slammed open. Dylan stood out there soaking wet. "I don't accept this rejection. I don't accept it... I will never accept it."
He rushed close.
Nico held out his hand. "Don't come close. Stay away..."
"Nico please.. please don't leave me.. I won't be able to live without you.. please..." he said sobbingly silently.
Hunter silently tugged at his hand.
Nicolai knew it was his cue. "I don't want to be your mate..."
"No no.. no... please anything I will give you anything... please be mine.. please..."
"Give me your kingdom, I want your alpha king position."
