Chapter 24 - Being Teased By A Stranger

Kalea was busy practicing swinging the golf club again, while Arthur was more interested in looking at Kalea's serious face. He had been playing golf since the age of seventeen. His skills were unquestionable. After that, Arthur started the game first. They played 18 holes, usually about three to four hours Arthur played with his friends or important colleagues. However, it seemed that today would be quite long.

Arthur prepares to hit, getting into position to hit the golf ball after which he swings the club and hits with dexterity. The ball soared so far, Kalea could hardly see it. She was astonished that in a field of that size and even kilometers, people were so good at playing this sport and knew where the ball was. Wonderment mixed with amazement was more like it.

The caddy asked them to go up to the car to the ball that had been thrown. This time it was Kalea's turn to bat. Previously, she had been in the beginners' driving area learning how to swing and hit. Kalea holds the club and gets into the proper position. Arthur smiled, a little amazed that Kalea was so quick to learn something new. After two swings, Kalea hit the ball. Although she still could not see where the ball flew away. Fortunately, the caddy could figure it out, Kalea thought it was a very difficult job.

'The income must have been a lot,' Kalea thought.

They continued playing until the last hole, so many obstacles when hitting the ball. The ground was uneven, bumpy and there was a lake. It was intentional to make it difficult to play the sport. Until the end, Kalea still couldn't get the ball into the hole marked with a red flag. Even though Arthur only hit once and went straight in.

"Too difficult, huh?" asked Arthur in a slightly big voice because he couldn't stand near Kalea while she was preparing to hit. Kalea didn't respond, she was still focused on the distance between the ball and the hole. She took a breath first, and began to hit with moderate force.

The ball is in.

Kalea suddenly jumped with joy, she turned to Arthur with an excited expression. She ran towards him. "Look, the ball's in!" she cheered excitedly.

"You did great," Arthur praised as he stroked Kalea's brunette hair. It was her first time, but as a beginner, Kalea did really well.

"Mr. Jefferson?" someone called, making Arthur turn around.

"Oh, Mr. Smith, long time no see," Arthur greeted as he walked over to the stocky man with the white mustache. They seemed to be chatting so intimately that they forgot about Kalea's presence. Kalea didn't want to intrude, and decided to approach the caddie who was cleaning up their game.

"Can I help?" she asked politely.

"Oh, no need, Miss, it's my job," the caddy declined just as politely.

However, Kalea persisted. "It's okay, if it's done by two people, it'll get done faster."

Although the caddy continued to refuse, Kalea still wanted to help. Eventually, the caddie relented and let Kalea help. There were a few balls that still hadn't been picked up and Kalea began to help search. The girl checked the lake area again, her eyes narrowing when she saw the round white object very close to the edge of the lake. She ran over and picked up the ball.

Kalea just realized that she was very far away from Arthur because she was busy looking for the ball. She didn't even bring her phone. Kalea shook off her worries and started walking again. However, she ran into a tall, thin man who seemed to be around the same age as her.

Kalea only smiled slightly at the man and walked back. However, her arm was suddenly restrained.

"E-excuse me?" asked Kalea confused.

"Are you new here?" the man asked, still not letting go of her hand.

Kalea nodded slowly, she looked down at her arm hoping he would realize that she didn't like being touched by random people.

"Oh, sorry! I'm just a little surprised that I've never seen a pretty woman like you," the man teased as he removed his hand from Kalea.

"Thank you," Kalea replied simply.

"Did you come here alone? Are you a newbie?" As the man continued to ask questions, Kalea was getting uncomfortable. Because in that vast expanse there was no one else in sight but the two of them.

"Sorry, I have to go soon," Kalea said, not intending to answer him. She resumed walking but again the man blocked her.

"Let me get to know you, we don't seem to be that far apart in age. I've played here many times, maybe I can help you if you have any difficulties," the man said with a wide smile. Kalea was silent, looking at him reluctantly.

"What's your name? I'm Reynhard, nice to meet a pretty ... and sexy woman like you," Reyhand said with his gaze focused on Kalea's body.

Kalea could feel that gaze, and she unconsciously gripped the golf ball tighter. She knew that the man in front of her must not be an ordinary man. It must be one of the important people, and she couldn't act rudely by hitting Reynhard's face with the golf ball she was holding even though she really wanted to.

"Hey, how arrogant you are ... answer my question. Or are you one of the mistresses of the people here?" Reynhard asked even more impolitely.

"I'm sorry, but that's none of your business," Kalea finally said. She looked flatly at the man.

A frivolous smile played on Reynhard's lips. His heart was hurt by Kalea's attitude, which he thought was pretentious. "Haha, it must be true, right? You shouldn't be so arrogant. Who's your owner? I'll pay you twice as much as him," Reynhard said, getting closer to Kalea. The girl walked backwards, her gaze sharp. The word 'your owner' irritated Kalea as if she were a pet.

"I have no business with you, so please let me go," Kalea replied in a firm voice despite her fear.

"Again you don't answer my questions. Are you deaf?"

Damn, his words made Kalea even more hurt and resentful.

Kalea bit her lower lip, still returning the man's glare sarcastically. Reynhard grabbed her arm again but Kalea brushed it away roughly.

"You! How arrogant! You know, I can find out about you and you'll never live in peace if you dare to resist," Reynhard hissed as he pointed at Kalea impolitely. "I was very kind to get to know you in the first place, it's your own fault for being so arrogant," he continued, his emotions getting the better of him.

Kalea was confused, what exactly had happened to her under these circumstances? Why was this man named Reynhard so upset just because he was ignored by her?

"I apologize, I didn't mean it that way. It's just that your words are too demeaning to me," Kalea replied.

"You're the one being rude by not answering my questions! You think I'm talking to a statue, huh?"

Crazy, this guy was crazy. Such a temper and so sensitive.

"What's going on?"

Kalea immediately turned her head toward the voice. That heavy, sexy voice she knew so well.
