Rory felt like she was stabbed in her chest hearing what Mrs. Delport said. It hurt to hear that this is what she is thinking of her-- because she is speaking her heart, she is going to end up alone.
She wanted to speak more. But she stopped herself. No one will listen to her. No one is going to understand the pain in her heart and listen to her words. No one.
But then, it made sense. When Liam acted up hiding the pain in his heart, everyone skirted around him. They loved him, and yet they weren't willing to listen to him and solve his hurt.
It was obvious that he was hurting deep inside and that's why she stayed with him not minding his tantrums.
But he is not going to be there for her. He might have stayed with her till now in the hopes that she wouldn't blatanty speak the truth. Now he knows the truth and he won't be there for her anymore.
