Chapter 5 - His Outrage

The maids had gathered in the living room, their hands clasped across their chests. Fear appeared on their faces. The tension in the room increased. Danish's gaze was drawn to those who stood in surrender. His fingers tapped the table beside him. The seat supported his body by allowing him to cross one leg over the other. His annoyance nearly devoured all the maids who remained a few feet in front of him.

"Can you tell me who entered my bedroom yesterday?" His raging voice exploded and nearly destroyed whoever heard it. "Are you all deaf or deafeningly deafen?" No one dared to raise their chin. His rage instilled fear in them, which was visible through their eyes. "Can you tell me who broke into my room yesterday?" His intonation had improved to the point where he could ruin everything around him.

"Danish... what's going on? What made you yell at them so early in the morning? What is their blunder?" Fortunately, Grandma Li descended the stairs and broke up the tense situation.

"I'm just curious who had the audacity to sneak into my room and sleep on my bed, but none of them spoke up. I'm not a believer in ghosts. So it's impossible for a ghost to have spent time on my bed." Danish took his steps to the top floor without waiting for his grandmother's response.

Danish's growl reached the second floor, where Luna had just made the bed, her habit every morning, despite the fact that it was the maid's responsibility and grandma Li had forbidden her from doing so. She was a morning person, so she was always up early. That was helpful in clearing her mind. Getting up earlier can help you build a good mood.

Listening to the bluff from a man's mouth, none other than Danish, from the lower floor piqued her interest in learning what had happened. She descended the rungs one by one, worried. When she arrived on the ground floor, the maids had returned to their work. Only Grandma Li remained, sitting on the sofa with a newspaper in her hand. Her attention was completely focused on the words and sentences on that piece of paper, and she was completely unaware of her surroundings.

"Grandma, what happened?" Luna's mouth opened, revealing a question. She admitted that Danish had just scolded the maids for someone secretly slurking into his room as she placed the newspaper on the coffee table and removed her glass.

A wave of guilt washed over her as she heard Grandma Li's words. She was the one who had snuck into it, but it wasn't her intention to do so. Because of her folly, she became disoriented and was imprisoned. Nonetheless, she knew that telling the truth would only embarrass her in front of the people in this house. She had to see Danish and confess everything; she had to be prepared for whatever reaction he had, even if he begged grandma Li to kick her out of the house.

"By the way, why did you inquire? That's none of your business."

"I'm just curious as to what caused the uproar so early in the morning."

"I'm sorry you have to hear his temper tantrum. That is why I would like him to marry you. Only you, I believe, have the ability to change his bad temper." Her expression on Luna emphasized her hope that she could be of great assistance in taming his grandson. But who was she that Grandma believed she was capable of conquering his grandson? He didn't even like her. Her legs ached from the fear of failing to meet Grandma Li's expectations.

"Grandma, please let me speak to him." Luna's words brightened her day, and her eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Sure, you should be able to handle it."

Luna led her steps to the rooftop where Danish was, after leaving Grandma Li.

That man was sitting on a bench near the swimming pool, his hand on his mobile phone, typing something. He spent the weekend at home because it was a weekend. That was some of the information she obtained from Grandma Li. Grandma Li informed her of all his activities as the first step toward bringing her closer to him.

"Hello, I have something I need to talk to you about." She was direct and to the point. As a busy person, he would prefer not to think about trivial matters.

"We don't have anything to talk about."

"It's about the person who came into your room without your permission." His gaze was drawn to her right away. His brow furrowed in interest. "I'm the one who broke into your room." His face was flushed with rage. He moved quickly at his feet. "I'll explain why. Please..."

"So, you're the suspect," he interrupted.

"Please listen to me first."

"You are not required to explain everything." He mockingly smirked at Luna. "It's no surprise you did such a deplorable thing as an uneducated village girl with a bad upbringing."

"Please...it has nothing to do with where I come from or how I was raised. It is entirely my fault. But you must understand that I was trapped there. I went inside thinking it was my room. It was my first time in this house, and I wasn't familiar with any of the rooms or areas. It was unfortunate that the maid locked me from the outside before I could leave." Luna was attempting to persuade him. She was met with more insults than understanding and forgiveness.

"I know exactly what a girl like you is thinking. You came to my room specifically to seduce me." Luna felt as if a knife had pierced her heart. She was not the type of girl who would give up her dignity for the sake of a man. "But it will never work for me because I will never like you!" Forever! So, please abandon me! Let alone in my world, you will never be accepted. You do not meet my expectations. If I were you, I would simply vanish." Danish carried his arrogance with him, a sneer on his lips. After that, the lift drank his torso.

Luna rose to her feet, overcome by an inexplicable sadness. Her heart shattered into a million pieces. Living in poverty not only put her under pressure from society or the people around her, but she also had to deal with the contempt others showed her. She didn't deserve his love, but that didn't give him the right to humiliate her like this.

Her cheeks were red with tears. She had tried to keep it back, but it kept falling. If Grandmother Lee had not come to her house that day and taken her to this location, he would not have met Danish and endured this humiliation. But regretting everything was not going to help her. She needed to be strong; this thing could not defeat her. She staggered up to her stance and toward the lift, which took her to the floor where her room was.

"Arrgggg...." Danish pummeled the wall repeatedly until his fist was bleeding. The sticky red liquid trickled down his wrist, through his fingers gap, and onto the floor. His rage drove him to do that insane thing. Not only did his annoyance at what that girl did cause him to injure himself by hitting his fist against the wall, but his grandmother's pressure on him to marry that village girl with bad behavior also contributed to his rage.

He sat on the bed, hands wringing his head, puffing out his rage at the white wall, which was now tainted by the blood spots. He dashed outside a few minutes later, grabbing his jacket and his car key. When the door was fully open, his eyes widened as the first thing he saw was Luna, the girl who sparked his resentment. The girl's gaze was drawn to his bleeding hands. He quickly hid it behind his back and rushed away from her.

"Are you all right?" Her question drew him back to where he was; whether it was a form of pity or her pretension to care in order to gain his sympathy, it no longer mattered. She was the first person he despised in this world. He ignored her as if she didn't exist.
