Chereads / Seduced By My Rogue Mate / Chapter 5 - They messed with the wrong pack

Chapter 5 - They messed with the wrong pack

At the first sight of the moon, I change into my cliché pair of battle attire. The black polo is putting on is one so tight, that it makes my muscles bulge.

One can say I am trying to put on a vibe of intimidation.

Paired off with my black jeans and my black combat boot, I set off for the spot I told them we'll meet on.

Going to my destination, I made sure not to take a route that'll lead me to meet my pack members.

I would rather not answer the questions I know will be thrown at me*

An Alpha walking towards the forest at this time of the night isn't a normal occurrence. Not only that, but I'm not one for a late-night run.

I take runs, but I don't do that at night, am one for an early morning run. I prefer taking runs in the morning to clear my mind during the day, and at night, I take a dip in a warm bath to relieve my muscles.

As expected, I was the first to reach the designated place. Checking to make sure there are no pack members around, I howl into the night.

This way, I can alert them of my presence, and the commencement of our battle against the rogue.

It didn't take long for the entire fifteen members I chose to assemble.

"You're one damn Alpha!" Kel claps my shoulder.

Just like I, the others are all putting on black attires, black being the only thing that can blend at night.

"Let's get this done with, shall we?" I give them a look.

"Yes, Alpha."

"So this is how we do things." I assigned each of them to the post I want them to be on. "Right now, we have the element of surprise on our side, and we need to make good of it."

"Yes, Alpha!" They chorused.

" Now let's set off. Kel doesn't forget, I want you close to me." I instructed.

" As you wish, boss man." Kel mock salutes me. " I know you can't do without me by your side."

" This is a serious battle, we don't have time for your plays." My beta growls at him.

" Jealous much? I bet you're thinking of murdering me just because the Alpha chose me."

" Enough of your childish way, Kel. You see the reason I asked you to be by my side." I frown at my best friend and gamma.

" Let's go then. I would rather not be devoured by this carnival." Giving my Beta a Stony look, Kel starts walking towards the route I picked for us.

"I don't know how you put up with Him." My beta growls. "Had I been you, I would have sent him down the lane of no return."

" Says the same male who couldn't even wrestle against him."

"That's because I don't want to kill a pack member."

"I see. Let's go then, we have a pack to protect."

*

Walking through the silent forest, I made sure not to make any sound at all. No need to alert the rogues of our presence before we make an appearance.

Motioning towards Kel, I made sure to do so in silence, as we followed the only light the moon spared for us.

Presently, in the dead of the forest surrounding the pack, there's nothing to be seen, nor can be heard, it's as if the forest is silently watching us as we went about stuff.

Just near the border, everywhere became a bit noisier. The breaking of twigs can be heard as the rogues carelessly walked about.

They're likely looking for a means to enter without alerting us of their presence, and judging by the way they're walking, it's not too difficult to know they intend to do that tonight.

Making sure I won't be detected, I motion for Kel to stand down while I race towards the other end of the forest. Pecking out, I sought for the other defenders who were currently in their hiding places waiting for me to give them the head up as I advised.

Counting their location, and finding it complete, I kneel on all fours, still in my human form.

I know I'll eventually change into my Wolf, but right now, I need to be in my human form to perfectly set out the task for my defenders.

Motioning for Kel to follow me, I slowly crawl towards the border. The rogues are still not aware of our presence, but I'm certain that won't be for long.

Our scents will undoubtedly reach their sensitive noses the moment we cross the border. That might be a disadvantage, but in some ways, it's an advantage for me.

At least we can be able to crawl over them, only to be detected when we're close enough. We still have the element of surprise on our side.

Kel slowly crawled to my side.

"How many are they?" I turn to him in question as I point towards the rogues noisily walking around the border.

"Five at the right. Three at the centre, but there's no telling how many are at the back. I can't see as far as that in this dark forest." He sighs in exasperation.

Kel might not be good when it comes to combat, but he's far more beneficial to us when it comes to his ability to see clearly at night.

Most times, I always joke about the goddess giving him the gift of sight in exchange for the gift of combat.

"We can work with that." I whistle lowly. Something that's meant to tell my defenders it's about time we advance.

"I guess it's time to show those stupid rogues they messed with the wrong guys," Kel growls lowly.

"I'll make sure they regret the day the thoughts invade my territory. I'll show them what an Alpha is capable of."

They messed with not only the wrong pack but the wrong Alpha.
