Chapter 12 - Impossible

He was not sure how to feel about this transmigration.

That was Jamal's current mood.

He sat down on the bed as he glanced at the mirror that took up an entire wall, at the rug that felt like clouds and the expensive silk bed sheet that covered the large bed.

It was clear that the owner of this room was extremely wealthy.

Too bad that the owner was not him.

The room belonged to Jamal's closest friend, Yemi. It was the original owner's room in the house but to Jamal what was not his, was not his.

The original owner was very poor. You might ask how a demigod who had lived for thousands of years was poor.

The answer was that the man was an idiot, at least to Jamal he was. He was one of those straightforward people that knew nothing but fighting.

He was an Einheri, a warrior revered and dedicated to Odin's cause.

Unlike other Einherjars, once he finishes his mission, he doesn't look twice at this client. He accepts no money or gifts from them.

He ate off the land and would usually sleep in the nearest cave.

When he was not doing his missions, he would return to the Vahalla and continue training for the Ragnarok.

Even after their mission failed and Odin had fallen, the original owner did not stop training day after day. Such a dedicated person was very rare to find.

Jamal felt a little guilty for calling the original owner an idiot.

He sighed.

Just his luck, to be poor in real life and poor when he transmigrated. Luckily, he was powerful in this world, it would not be difficult finding a job. He first needed to see this world through his own eyes and also have a good meal, before he began to make plans.

With that Jamal moved across the room to the door. He paused, listening for any sound of movement on the other side.

He twisted the knob open to reveal an entire hallway. Jamal carefully closed the door behind him.

Clang!

There was a little noise that seemed to be coming from downstairs so he made his way towards it.

The noise seemed to be getting louder so Jamal hurried up. He reached the staircase and walked faster.

The moment he looked down, he was shell shocked. He could not run back to his room and as someone coming from Earth, it felt rude to walk down as well.

This was not kissing anymore. The two men were devouring each other's mouths as they moaned loudly.

From the way they held each other tight like they wanted to merge into one another, it felt like they wanted to process into a much more R rated movie.

What should he do? He wondered as a little joy crept into his heart.

The thought that being gay was normal in his new world filled him with so much joy.

He had always felt that he would have to hide his sexuality for the rest of his life but from the original's memory, being gay was not a big deal.

The smaller male bit the other male on the lips drawing blood. The taller male just chuckled. He kissed the underside of the other's chin before reluctantly releasing the other from his grasp.

The two men were gorgeous. The smaller male was about 5 feet 4. His Auburn hair swept past pointed ears set around a face that was like an acorn both in shape and shade. He was decked into a fine blue silk that brought out the ocean blue of his eyes.

This was Adeyemi, called Yemi. Jamal's childhood relative. They both shared the same background story.

Thousands of years ago, the all Pantheon meeting was held in Asgard. The meeting lasted ten years and when the gods returned home, there was a baby boom in Asgard.

As expected of the gods that could not keep in their pants.

Adeyemi's father was Eshu, the God of chance, crossrords and languages. His father was the messenger of gods and one of the most important deities in Yoruba pantheons while his mother was a beautiful mortal that lived in Asgard.

In order to prove himself, he had joined the Einherjar. The story was a bit similar to the original owner.

The original owner was the son of Osiris in his form as Benu, the Phoenix and Eirala, the demigod daughter of the Eir, the goddess of healing, health, and euphoria.

She was a Valkyrie and one of the fourteen virgin handmaidens of Odin.

No one knew the honeyed words, Benu had whispered into her ears but she had conceived a child with him.

Of course, after the meeting, Osiris had left his pregnant lover to return home.

One could only imagine how Asgard would treat an Egyptian scion, so his mother could only plead for Heimdall to adopt him.

"Jamal. Are you alright? How was your meditation?" Asim asked, wiggling his eyebrows? The word 'meditation' was the code word for his burning as Jamal like all Phoenix needed to die and rise back from the ashes.

Jamal lowered his eyes in guilt. Facing this person, he did not know how to tell him that his friend had not risen from the ashes this time around.

Yemi narrowed his eyes and silver tattoos appeared all over his body for a minute before vanishing. "Good. You are not possessed. You are acting odd. I thought that you might have fallen into a bout of weakness and some god spectre possessed you."

Receiving no reply from Jamal, he sighed, "I am probably thinking too much. Come, let's have dinner."

Jamal's heart contracted the moment that he heard Yemi's words.

He was too perceptive or rather he knew Jamal too well.

Possession was a thing in this world as they were loads of scattered souls of deities after the Ragaronk, looking for healthy bodies filled with Aether to possess. He needed to be careful, very very careful.

"Baby…" A voice whined. "Why do you always ignore me whenever he is here? Do you have something going on that you are not telling me?" The man tried to reach with his wings and Yemi slapped it off.

Wings.

Jamal's eyes widened. The moment the man talked he could feel the foreign emotions of envy, longing and pain. These were the emotions of the original owner that had not yet dissipated.

As for why they were so strong, it was because this person, no this god was his brother.

This was Asim, one of the twin sons of Osiris. The man had the same tall and muscular build that Jamal had. His skin was an ochre colour, much like the mellow brown light that bathed the forest at sunset.

His eyes were reddish gold, the same color as the large Raven wings at his back.

His eyes blinked innocently at Yemi, his every action making the pain in Jamal's heart increase.

It was at this moment that Jamal understood any piece of the original owner. Asim and Yemi had been dating for close to ten years and yet he had never for once opened up about his heritage.

He was amazing and at the same time, a little pitiful.

"Yemi and I are just friends." Jamal said, his words brisk and cold, just like the original owner would say it.

"Jamal, no need to talk to him. You can just act like he doesn't exist." Yemi said as he started to bring out things from the pantry, focusing on food that would help to replenish one's energy.

"Babi, how can you say that? I am the Principal of Atlantis Academy. I am very important, you can't just ignore me."

Yemi just cleaned the knife, "Call me Babi, one more time and I can assure you that Jamal would have feathered chicken for dinner."

Jamal on the other hand was ice cold as a chill crept in from his spine. Atlantis Academy, isn't that one of the schools in Atlantis, the twilight of the gods?

Impossible. This can't be real.
