He was so confusing. The Rhys she had met a year ago was so different from the man sitting there. Or maybe she never knew him.
"Sound sleep,dear. I will say dream about me but my brother would murder me eh?" He mused smugly.
Damien chuckled, completely oblivious his younger brother wasn't really joking.
"She will be preoccupied with thoughts about me. Maybe you should find yourself a girlfriend." Damien replied.
"But the one I want is already taken by someone else." He said with a shrug.
Beatrix's heart constricted in her chest. His lips pulled into a satisfying smile seeing the horror on her face.
"Is she married?" Damien asked with a frown.
"No but she is engaged. She seems happy too." For a second, Beatrix swore she saw a glint of sadness in Rhys' eyes but it disappeared so fast she thought she was hallucinating.
Damien sighed, "I'm sure you will find someone better."
"No…..I don't want someone better. I want her."
