Chereads / The Sweetest Temptation / Chapter 7 - New Obsession

Chapter 7 - New Obsession

Beatrix swallowed anxiously as she tried to calm down her nerves, wetting her lips before she spoke "H-hi Rhys."

Beatrix blinked as she took in his appearance. She wondered what water this man bathed to be this confident and sinfully gorgeous. He was like a walking temptation. Surely he was bad for her soul.

"How are you doing?" He asked coyly, a grin breaking out on his face.

"Good you?" Beatrix replied,

"Fine. So did you dream about me last night?" He teased as he raised his brows at her.

"I-I…Not really dreamt about you since I couldn't sleep because I was busy thinking about you." Beatrix flushed when she realized what she had said.

His smirk grew, as he slides his hands into the

pockets of his leather jacket "Really?Well that makes the two of us love."

Beatrix's eyes widened in shock. He was thinking about her? But why?

"What were you thinking about me?" She asked before she could stop herself.

His brows shot up, entertained by her question he took a step closer to her. Beatrix dropped her gaze to the ground and she fidgeted nervously. Maybe she shouldn't have asked that question.

"Well I was thinking about these beautiful lips of yours.." He said lowly, a devious but playful look to

his eyes.

Beatrix's stomach fluttered at his words, her body visibly stiffening.

"Oh." She replied in a daze. Her mind was a mess with how close he was. His confident and powerful aura made her overwhelmed everytime.

He pulled his hand from his pocket, and trailed his finger across her lips.

Beatrix's stomach fluttered as his fingers grabbed her chin gently as he lifted her face back up to meet his eyes.

"Have you ridden before?" he smiled, flicking his eyes between her own.

Beatrix shook her head, watching as his tongue

darted out to wet those same perfectly carved lips

that haunted her memories last night.

Those damn lips.

He leaned forward, pressing his lips close to her ear.

"Well I'm glad I will be your first time."

Her heart throbbed, her pulse raced feeling his breath

fan against the shell of her ear, he smelled so good. Whatever cologne he was using made her inside melt.

She never believed Stella when she said even a man's smell could make you fall in love and here she was simping over a cologne.

It was like every part of this man had been curated to be enticing and irresistible. He was a walking temptation wrapped in a leather jacket and seductive smirks.

Rhys pulled back with a cheeky glint to his eyes,

clearly he could see the effect he had on her. How she turned into a nervous puddle over the smallest actions or words that came from him.

He grabbed the hem of her shirt, tugging her forward closer to him.

"I like your shirt too by the way. You're really like Mickey products right?"

Beatrix blushed and nodded. She had been laughed at due to her style of dressing when she was a kid. This was the first time that someone apart from Stella had complimented her dressing style.

"Hmm you're twitchy and like mickey products." He noted drawing his eyes from her shirt to her face.

He broke into a lazy smile as if he had discovered something interesting.

"Well let's go little mouse. We have a lot of exciting stuff to do today."

His full pink lips pull into a sly lopsided smile, his

eyes glinting as he walked towards his bike and picked up his helmet, handing it to her.

Beatrix bit her lips as she stared at the helmet. She was afraid of getting on the bike. She had seen many people lose their lives while riding their bike and she didn't want to take any chances.

"Are you afraid, little mouse?" he asked as he eyed her curiously,

With the helmet in his hand, he walked towards her and leaned forward, after her lack of response, "Don't be, you're in exceptionally good hands today, I'm going to take very good care of you."

Beatrix licked her lips and nodded. "Alright." She knew she was being stupid putting her life and trust in a complete stranger but that's what today was about right? Being totally reckless.

Rhys gave her a reassuring smile before he put the helmet gently over her head and then tapped her chin so that she would tilt her head backwards.

Beatrix felt his fingers brushed the skin of her neck as he tightened the strap so that the helmet would fit her and wouldn't wiggle when she moved

"Alright love, put your foot here," he instructed as he pointed to the peg on the bike.

"And then you're going to swing your leg over and place your foot on the peg there." He said softly.

Beatrix nodded and followed his instructions. He got on the bike after her.

He turned to her and smirked at her.

"Erm…where do I hold on?" Beatrix asked.

An amused lopsided lazy smile etched on his face.

He grabbed her arms and wrapped them around his waist tightly.

"Hold on to me tightly babe because I love riding fast."

He said and winked at her.

Beatrix's face reddened, "Well can you not go too fast? I think I can enjoy it more if it's slow."

He lifted his brows, biting back a laugh as those

mesmerising eyes light up humorously "I didn't think you were the slow type love. Good to know your preference."

Wait.. what was he talking about?

Beatrix furrowed her brows until she realized what she had said and what it sounded like.

She felt heat rise up her neck to her cheeks.

He had twisted her words and made it sound dirty even though that's not what she meant. She shook her head helplessly and her lips curled up into a smile.

His eyes focus on her lips momentarily, before they

look back up "I think seeing you smile it's my new obsession."

Her cheeks deepened the crimson shade they were

already tinted and she couldn't help her smile grew a bit wider as they stared at each other.
