The first thing George did after going inside the mansion was to excuse himself to go and bring his phone back. Cynthia was in a hurry to get to her baby anyhow, her brain cells vaguely registered what George was excusing himself for.
He wanted to check on the baby too, but he had asked his secretary to submit some important papers to the accounting department of Evans-soft in the morning, and requests for payments for the entire month were going to be closed by the end of the working hours… George kept arguing with himself as he walked to the guest room that he shouldn't be this anxious about it. His secretary was as competent as one can get, and though he liked to regularly check with her and make sure that things were going according to plan, the world was not going to come to an end if they didn't touch base this once.
