Chapter 5 - New School

The weather was bright and sunny in the morning, some bits of sun ray came into my room, I stood before my mirror, putting on my boyfriend jean and then proceed to wear my dark brown cardigan on top of the white shirt I wore with a 'Naruto' drawing on it, one of my favorite anime's, I button my cardigan before forcing my messy curly hair in a top bun, thank god the rubber didn't snap, I never bothered to brush my hair it was annoying and it tangles and sometimes breaks my comb whenever I tried, I don't really want a headache at the first day of school.

I grabbed my bag before heading downstairs.

"There you are, how was your night?" Vanessa asked from the kitchen.

"I couldn't sleep because of that damn dream-catcher, seriously Vanessa why do you have those?" I groaned and was frustrated. Still remembering my sleepless night.

I heard her giggle at my words. "You will get used to it," she walked to the table, dropping a plate of toast on it. I grabbed it, taking a small bite.

"What happens when I take it off?" I asked,

"Don't start with that, it's too early" she said going back to the kitchen.

"Why?!" Why do I have the strong feeling that she was keeping something from me?

At that moment the school bus horn blew loudly.

"That's your bus off you go," Vanessa said in a high-pitched voice from the kitchen, I mouthed something walking out of the house, I sighed heading to the school bus, the doors automatically opened, and the bus driver turned to me.

"Well I haven't seen you around here, are you new here?" the driver asked.

"Y-Yeah".

I got a better view of the town, as the bus moved, I made sure to stay behind where the seat was tall, even as the bus stopped to pick up others they could hardly notice me, as they gathered in and chatted whatsoever, the bus became impossible loud for me, I was enjoying the radio the driver played before they filled up but now all I heard was noise, noise, noise and I were forced to plug in my earplugs listening to some cool music, 'Ruelle' she was my favorite artist as well as 'Halsey', I had a stockpile of playlist with those two, Their songs seemed to pull me out of this world into a temporary dream.

A few minutes later the bus stopped and I lifted my head to look out the window, so this was my new school. I followed the others getting off the bus.

"All the luck" Mark the bus driver told me, I forced a smile as he drove off. My grip on my bag tightened and I took a deep shaky breath, gazing upon Juneau High school, just at the entrance where the craved name was there was a terrifying looking sculpted bear, who does that?

I ignored the scary looking bear and sauntered into the school doors, I slowly walked in the midst of people I don't know feeling like a black egg amongst the white ones, my heart was slamming loudly in my chest, I was extremely nervous, I tried to calm myself down by looking at the papers my aunt gave me, it held my classes, lucky enough she already did all the transfer paperwork for me, I fully concentrated on it searching for the class I had this morning. My ears were still blocked with earplugs, and all noise went by me in silence, it was just me standing in the midst of the passing crowd and I never minded it. At least no attention was paid to me.

The school bells rang and I found my class. "Got it," I said, sauntering toward the next hall searching, thankfully I found it so I don't need to ask anyone for directions. I removed my earplugs and walked into class but I met with all eyes on me as well as the teachers.

I completely froze where I was unable to move, my cheeks blushing in embarrassment, I opened my mouth to speak but words couldn't come off, I felt my hands trembling, I nervously licked my lips, my gaze on my shoes.

"You're Emma Adams the transfer student, right?"

My green orbs flashed to the teacher who had an amusing look.

"Y-Yes," I said but it came off in a whisper but I think he heard me as his smile grew. But how come he knew my name? In Washington, none of my teachers knew me, and then I thought back to this place being a town, it seems like nothing gets past small boroughs like this. I licked my lips.

"Nice of you to join us, I'm Mr. Hardy Frocks, the history teacher," he said, handing the textbook to me.

"T-Thanks" I whispered once again while taking it, my eyes scanned for an empty seat fast dying to get out of all the eyes on me, I saw one by the window and I quickly rushed to it. Setting my bag down and opening my textbook and note and then I paused. Where the fuck is my pen? I searched my bag, careful not to just scatter it on my table, that would be a mess. Great, so great! First day here and I already forgot my pen. I sighed heavily as I rubbed my eyes, my glasses hoisting up in the process.

I felt something poke me from behind and I leisurely turned and met with a tan-skinned handsome boy behind me, giving me a charming smile, one I couldn't resist.

Fuck! Now I was staring like an idiot. He raised what he used to poke me with, it was a pen. His smile broadened.

I muttered a 'Thank you' before taking it and facing back to the teacher, whoever that was, was a life saver.
