Chapter 7 - Encounter

On the streets with the ridiculous pouring of the rain, I watch some passersby with umbrellas and some just running back and forth under the pouring rain. I stopped a number of times to clean my glasses before resuming. The cars passing splashed water everywhere, I sighed ignoring how wet I was. I was glad I studied the road to know my way back, I put my hands in my cardigan pocket walking slowly, figuring there was no need running since I was all wet.

This day has by far been the worst for me, if only I knew I should have brought an umbrella. I licked my lips shivering within me, I was so cold already. The loud pouring of the rain echoed in my ears but like a brief moment it all just seemed faint to me, everything by me went slow, the passing cars, the people, I raised my head leisurely and my heart beat seemed to become louder to my hearing.

My eyes caught someone coming ahead of me, wearing a black cardigan with an open front, white shirt within, the only color to the rest dark clothing he wore, the sleeves rolled up his arms making me see how ripped he was, those strong arms even if I didn't see it completely, his hand buried in his pocket jeans, the other holding the umbrella. His walking step was slow and mesmerizing, it seemed to fit this perfect slow moving existence playing right before my eyes. And he was the center of everything that played around, making the rest of existence vanish from my sight, how could one's presence be so alluring?

My heartbeat quickened like a skyrocket when he came closer, I just couldn't take my eyes off him, I didn't want to, I was dying to see his face that was hidden by the red umbrella but when he got close I caught a glimpse of his smooth jaw and his light pink lips which only made me more eager to see the rest of him and like my wish was answered, his red umbrella hoist up.

My breath caught as I gawked at his handsome features, his hazel eyes locked on mine and it seemed like I was locked in a spell. I have never seen someone as dashing as this, in all the boys I have seen, this before me can't be real, does such definite features exist? Judging from his slightly matured looks he might be older than me, His raven hair held slight curls, rolling against his forehead, just above his thick eyebrows with a slight droplet of water from the rain.

Our eyes remained locked and it seemed to last for eternity without me realizing he had already passed me by. I came to a halt finally breathing… Like I have been holding my breath since the moment I set my eyes on him, an ardent feeling that was foreign to me swirled within me, unlike anything I have ever felt in my life, like a rush of desire flowing through my blood, and plumping, screaming to boil loose. It was strange like I met something new, something I have never felt before, and that moment I knew it didn't feel like a dream, it was real!

I didn't feel the rain on me again. Curious, I raised my head and saw a red umbrella shielding me from it. My eyes went wide and I whirled with a gasp, startled that he was behind me without me realizing it, both of us under the same umbrella. He was tall, much taller than me, my face was tilted just to meet those hazel eyes, they were a beautiful set of color that I never realized until now.

The tips of my fingers and toes were cold just not by the raging rain pouring against us but his fervent stare. I was lost for words, my lips were left apart, unable to speak, I was lost by his beauty, I didn't know someone could be this magnificent, I was fascinated and amazed.

"W-What a-are you?" my words came out wrong and I cursed myself for it, but what more could I say? He left me breathless. He grinned broadly showing his perfectly white teeth, and it seemed like I forgot to breathe again.

"You're wet"

I gulped hard just by the sound of his voice, it was like music to my ears, slightly baritone voice and smooth, who knew words could be so sweet and the delight of it seemed to find its way to my lower region, fuck! Why was I feeling this way?

I licked my wet lips and I noticed how the back dot in his hazel eyes dilated for a split second, maybe I imagined that, I was too drawn in to even think straight.

"Y-Y-Yes I am" I mentally cursed myself for not speaking right, I adjusted my glasses in hopes to regain my composure. "U-Unfortunately I didn't bring my umbrella,"

"I can see that" he motioned to my wet clothes.

"It came unexpected"

"So you're walking home under the rain?" he asked with a slight frown. He was worried about me, it was strange, yes, I was speaking to a total stranger who was concerned about me. I gasped feeling the cold breeze around me, I completely forgot I was still under the rain, both of us, my eyes drifted back to him, his eyes still on me focused like I was the only life on the planet.

"I-I should go," I said regretting I had to say that. "My aunt must be worried about me" I whispered but he seemed to hear me.

"Your aunt?" he raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah I-I live with her, it's a long story" I said looking away I was afraid if I stare in his eyes again I would be lost forever, what was this overwhelming feeling? It felt too real.

"Then you need this," he said, handing me his umbrella.

"No, I can't, you will get wet" I said worried.

"I'm already wet" he said with a smile and tilting his head to the side in the most dashing way. "I insist" he argued. I nodded slowly reaching for it, that moment the tip of my fingers brushed against his, I groaned closing my eyes, my lips went apart as a sensational rush of adrenaline flowed through my body.

"What's happening?" I whispered, flashing open my eyes. He had the same look as mine but he was stiff with widened eyes. I realized that contact was unexpected for both of us. He drew back from me slowly into the rain, his body got wet instantly, I just held the umbrella with both hands tightly, gawking like a fool, my body still shook from our contact, his chest rising and falling as he turned away from me.

"W-Wait!" I called but he was gone as the breeze blew water everywhere, I took a look at my hand that brushed against his, it trembled, my eyes darted to where he exited.

What just happened?
