Her eyes were wide awake even before the sun showed up in her window. No matter how tired she felt, she still did not get enough rest. Her eyes continuously popped open when she thought of what her boss had told her.
It was like she was in a recurring nightmare, waking up only to realize it was the reality. Only to fall asleep again, having the same awful dream. But was it that bad?
"Of course, it was." She mumbled lazily in her bed as she stared at the ceiling she had seen a thousand times or more before.
She could still feel the effect of the alcohol she had consumed last night. But it never numbed her senses. It did not achieve what she desired, as her thoughts kept her awake almost all night.
Finally, she gave up, knowing that her mind would not allow her some peace. She stood from her bed and strode to her bathroom, ready to start her day early.
