Had he accidentally bumped his head on a wall when he was drunk and lost a bearing in his head? That was the only rational explanation for his utterly ridiculous proposal.
She laughed, as in literally bent on her waist, and laughed hard, when she heard him. She could see that his face was nothing but humorless. Still, she could not help but find his suggestion hilarious.
"Are you done? Can we now talk?" He impassively said, but she could tell he did not find her reaction funny. Maybe even fuming inside, but he did not show it.
However, what was there to talk about, she thought? Instantly, she gave him the answer he had been waiting for, and it was a definitive no. "I don't want to work for you again, and I am sure I will never act as your girlfriend."
