She stared at the man that sat on her other side. He hardly said anything, but she could tell he was only biding his time. But it was not helping her nerves as the anticipation only increased with what was to come.
The inevitable talk.
Honestly, she had no idea what to tell him. Of course, she intended only to divulge the truth. She was tired of keeping her secrets. But would that be beneficial to her child? At the moment, her interest or want was the least of her priorities.
How much of the truth should she share with him? Could she trust him with the truth? Could he protect her daughter against his father and the people who would want to hurt her?
But silence continued to loom over them, making their situation awkward, until he finally spoke. "How have you been, Eida?" He stated as he glanced at her, probably just wanting to make a casual conversation before their big talk.
