Liam woke up with his neck, shoulders, and back stiff like a rock. Who could sleep on that sofa? He could barely fit his body in it. But it was still dark outside as he looked out the window. When he scanned his watch, he realized he had only dozed for an hour.
Unable to sleep again, he walked back to her room to check her condition. He just wanted to make sure that she had not worsened. When he leaned down on her bed, he touched her forehead and monitored her pulsed. So far, she seemed ok.
He could not help but think about the earlier incident. Why did those girls spike up her drink? What did she do to them? He made a mental note to investigate this. He could not allow them to get away with what they did. He did not tolerate such actions.
He sat down on the edge of her bed and watched her sleep. He still wondered why he was attracted to her. Deny it all he wanted. He could not hide the truth forever.
